Clogged up.

Is there anything you can do to stop some e liquids from clogging up coils? I'm using a concentrate I mixed with banana foster in it and my wick and coil just keep dying on me!

Its a kayfun lite plus rba and 30w I stick. I cant get to the end of 1 tank full without having to change it. When I do it looks disgusting!

I have always had this with tobacco extracts only a couple of things have helped, cleaning the wire first helps a tiny bit, temp limiting nickel builds can make much more difference I get 2 to 4 times the wick life, but I think that would vary a lot between different liquids.

I'm vaping on normal canthel wire at around 11 watts, nothing fancy.

Im around the same 1 - 1.2 ohms at around 12watts.
Whats your PG/VG ratio in your mix?
Ive done custards in a Kfun & could sometimes get a week out of a wick if I was feeling particularly Lazy.
They did look a bit rough by the end of it.
I only mix 90 - 95% VG though I do use AVG instead of straight VG.

I originally went to 100% PG because of clogging phtumshk, it didn't make much difference just a little improvement IIRC.


jacq it is the flavouring that is the cause and one of those thing you have to live with with I'm afraid, temp limiting normally improves it but won't cure it completely.

the only thing i could say that might make it a bet less of a faff is using said juice in a dripper, so you can just wack off the top cap and whip out the cotton ect ect when you need to, instead of the carry on you would go through with a kayfun

When I was using Kayfuns a lot I always had 2 or 3 built so I didn't have to rewick in an emergency, cotton is cheap and this takes some of the stress out of it.

Part of the reson i prefer to use billow and uwell. Nice being able to eve tank and accessories coils without having to empty juice etc

PG/VG is 50/50 on this one. Don't have any trouble with other flavours, as you say the wick can last a week then! Hell knows what's in banana foster!! Love my kayfuns but then don't really know any better as haven't tried anything else. Must be old fashioned.

The flavour does play the biggest part I find, Afro D by t juice is the worse for me, two tanks through a kayfun, 3 tops and it's gunked. Custards about 5, clear concentrates, black jack, cough candy maybe 10?

I mix so VG/PG and nic all the same, I just have a coiling/wicking day and do about 8 kayfuns in one go.

Edit...you're not old fashioned, I have given up trying to find a MTL Atty that can beat the kayfun, I can't....just wish someone would make one with a glass section that screws down, not friction fit.

I read that spacing the coils a tiny bit might help with this, not sure if thats the case but might be worth a try.

Agree about the glass section and I feel that when something seems perfect for you then there's no need to improve it! I've only got 2 kayfuns as haven't been vaping that long. Planning to get more tho as wasted enough money on trying different concentrates that I won't use anymore . Can't afford to spend out on attys that I don't know!!

I'll give that a go, def worth a try! Failing that I've got a Veritas dripper to use as someone else suggested but its not as good as my kayfuns
