perhaps a stupid question but don't you need a licence if you fly them outside legally because of the camera ?

unless you live somewhere that lets you play like blackbush used to do for us hobbyists way back when I was living there and actually did it for a while

You actually do not need a licence for a quad providing you are not charging money for its use.

You do of course need to adhere to the regulations regarding it's use ie. Not using it within set distances of people and buildings.
