all good afaik with DC voltage devices use a higher amp rated supply and smile, when u use a lower rated amp supply its trouble as (excuse my laymans understanding) the higher rated device drawing the current can try n 'suck' more out and overtax/blow the supply.. the reason manufacturers supply matched amp psus with dc voltage devices is cos its the cheapest option

I switched the plug from the supplied one with the istick 20 as it felt seriously hot when charging but others run much cooler drawing the same amps, the official samsung chargers seem good, maybe they use thicker wire or something in the plug, plus I got a non uk plug with the istick so it needed an adaptor on top of that, but the temperature it got too was bit crazy lol

Due to desperate times in last week my istick was charged overnight unguarded on a 2 A charger, goes against all my rules, but was no problem until I misthreaded it and ended it's life.
You read all these horror stories, but think nothing of slinging phone on charge overnight, travel abroad with various voltages, still stick everything on charge for hours (ok thier hotel burns down not your house). I think lot of paranoia about charging, some quite rightly (the £1 charger from ebay has got to be iffy), but if you got correct and good quality stuff relax a little. I'm no electrical expert though. !!!
I'll report if my house burns down tonight lol.

Never occurred to me to check the charger I'm using. I regularly use a phone charger and plug it into my istick 30 or subox mini.
Should I stop?
Like some above I use tablet chargers or Samsung phone charger

This is one of the down sides to standardising the micro-USB as a charging method - the plug itself may be the same, but lots of different devices needing different charging currents via that same connector.... if you're going to standardise it, then make that for current/voltage as well as the plug itself
