Hey everyone, been a while since I've been on here. I'm now coming up to a year without any stinkies Anyway, a couple of things I'd like to ask. I'm using a istick 50w with a nautilus and a kanger subtank mini. But with my nautilus I get a lot of gurgling and leaks through the drip tip quite a lot, even after replacement tanks and glass etc, is this just an issue with this tank? And with my subtank mini it leaks through the airflow quite a lot. Are these issues people generally have? And is there any other tanks with similar performance, I fancy a change in tanks. I've tried drippers but they just aren't for me. Thank you in advance everyone

First questions isaacbale94 what ohms are your coils, what wattage are you using and what pg/VG ratio liquid? Leaking and gurgling is often a sign of over wicking or the liquid not being fully burned of the wick, hence the gurgle and leak

prr with my nautilus I use a 70/30 pg heavy liquid with a 1.8 coil on 10W. And for for subtank I use a 70/30 vg heavy liquid with a 0.5 coil on 17.5W or a 1.2 coil on 15W. Sorry I didn't add it to start with

My guess is the wattage, I'm sure I've read the nautilous is at its best at around 15w and the subtank around 20-25w. Suggest as a first try you up the wattage in increments and see if it gets better, 70/30 pg heavy is a pretty thin liquid and so readily wicked. isaacbale94

prr I have done in the past but i still get the same problems, and with the nautilus I sometimes get dry hits when I had it at 15W. I've tried using thicker liquids (up to a 50/50) but it didn't help either. And thanks for trying to help pal.

i found the stock coils in the subtank leaked through the afc, switching to the rba seems to cure it. though the mini subtank wont accept the rba i have recently learned. Well done on nearly a year of vapin.

phtumshk I've never actually tried the rba, it seems simple enough to make. How often would it need changing etc?

And thanks it was tough to start with for the first couple months, but once I got my nautilus I was a happy chappy but I'm just getting a bit bored with my setup right now, I fancy a bit of a change. Are there any other tanks similar to what I use with similar performance you could suggest?

Same as above! both the stock coils that came with my Subtank leaked after a few days, but since switching to the RBA I've had no leaking issues and I'm not the greatest at wicking, either too much or too little usually, Mow,,, Just seen the above! I'm a heavy vapor and after two weeks my RBA is still going strong on the same coil and wick with my 70% PG / 30% VG juice, though the first week was the best tasting, so I'd say once a week, and it only cost penny's anyway, I use Koh Gen Do cotton and buy pre-made coils from F/T coil link

Its the easiest RBA to coil/wick and Im on about the 3rd week of my daily 1ohm chain vape sub tank and its still fresh and tasty. There are 2 different types the 1 with the side holes as per the stock coils is the 1 im using ATM. Though obviously it might differ with a real sub ohm build with fat wire twice the cotton. Im new to the subtank as there so easy to use but Im a big fan of the oldies but goodies the kayfun and taifun as I dont really sub ohm which seems to be were everything is going.

f.w.i.w. I have used both the original BVCs and the cotton wool ones (larger holes). I doubt I could count the packets on two hands, so it must be more than 10 x 5-packs. I feel I know them well. The originals were good 10-12w. The new ones 12-14w, maybe nudging 15, but not for long. They will get moisture/liquid in the well of the drip tip, there's nothing you can do except whip out the tip and run some loo roll around in there. Are there better tanks? Probably, but hard to find and costly to experiment. At 10w you could try the 'old' Kanger tanks with SOCC coils. (Protank 2, for example). I find them a bit weak, but the SOCCs can get into double figures (10-11w) whereas the original coils were guaranteed to burn out at these levels. Other than that... don't know much more. I hope buying spares means you ended up with more than a few tanks... seems like a lot of hassle for a basically good tank.
