Greetings people.
Fed up with the dry hit hell I'm having with the coils (30B, I believe) for my device (as stated in the topic title, with the iClearX.I tank). They last but a single day before I run into trouble with them - this since the coils changed so long ago to the short stem (no, I haven't used my device for some time).
Have tried giving a bit of time for the liquid to soak the wick, have tried sucking without firing a few times to get the wick soaked (which is now of course tending to lead to flooding). I can only conclude that the coils and/or the tank are just shit.
Can anyone advise me on either alternative coils that would fit my tank, that actually work and are totally reliable, or an alternative tank that would fit my device? Otherwise, I would appreciate suggestions on a completely alternative device of the same general type.
Thanks.

Im afraid i cant help with the atty you have, bt if its a tight draw that you prefer, the aspire nautilus is a highly recommended tank atty as is the eleaf gs16 ,That one i have used Shameless plug alert!! or if you fancy something rebuildable to save on coil costs how about checking out these: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/threads/recent/59328

Not my area, but you probably need a better atty/topper, you didn't say what wattage you are vaping AFAIK those are only good at low watts. And welcome on-board username

some box mods with or without temperature control are right now on market cheap as chips. Tank atomizers new style also on market with good pricess . Just give us some details about what you like ...your ''taste'' . starting with iStick30w/40wTC/...100w with or without changeable battery or eVic mini or cloupor GT and continue with subtank mini , nautilus , crown etc .. we can recommend many devices , but we need to know also about your budget...like an example a good combo is this : Joyetech eVic-VTC Mini 60W TC + Innokin iSub G or Kanger Subtank mini ...

Thanks for the replies, everyone. ... bt if its a tight draw that you prefer, the aspire nautilus is a highly recommended tank atty as is the eleaf gs16 ,That one i have used I don't know what you mean by 'tight' draw. All this variable terminology doesn't help , but looking at another reply, I can only guess 'like a cigarette'. So, yes, like a cigarette, or just like the device I said I have (when it works properly). Thanks for that suggestion then. Presuming I follow you correctly I think that may be the sort of tank I could use, I'll take a look into that one. Shameless plug alert!! or if you fancy something rebuildable to save on coil costs how about checking out these: Always interested in saving money (who isn't?), but really don't need (or want) complicated. Thanks for the suggestion, however. ... also high vg juice is not good for that atty As I discovered long ago when trying to figure out what ratio of PG/VG I wanted/could handle. ... more info on how you want to vape would help ie tight like a ciggy or lose like a pipe I thought that by stating what device I had people would know how I want to vape. ??? More than that I can only say that I settled on a general 50/50 PG/VG because too much VG makes me want to vomit (it's like sucking in vapourised body odours - UGH) and my lungs can't handle too much PG. Listen, my lungs are pretty screwed, this vaping is only going to be temporary for me, I'm sure. I'm forced to give up smoking because they [lungs] can no longer handle it, seriously. So the general 50/50 is about what I can handle with some degree at least of flavour, for the time I'm going to be able to vape. I'd really love a perfect 'smoke' just like my rollies, with the same satisfaction, but I'm sure I'm never going to get that from vaping. As for power, I set my device at either 7.0, 8.0 or 8.5 depending upon what flavour I'm getting (which is usually little to nothing, honestly). As for nic, I have 18 and 24, but need to get some new (honestly don't get any buzz off either, well, maybe sometimes get the tiniest bit from some of the 24, but not usually and that's the really rough stuff (bit more PG in that one and for when I'm so ravenously, mind ragingly, dementedly desperate for a nicotine hit that I'll risk hurting my lungs for maybe ten draws) so I know I can't go any more. Anyway, basically I can't handle anything too heavy, but I need satisfaction. A difficult balance to get, I know, especially when everyone is different. Thanks for your reply. some box mods with or without temperature control are right now on market cheap as chips. This is all so complex, honestly. I don't know what else to say other than I have. I do love my device (it worked great at first). I did first have a Kanger emow, same kind of thing, see. Nice and simple. But that didn't give me enough of a 'smoke', so I bought the itaste 134 mini. In both cases I love their SIMPLICITY. lol This is why I ask is there just a TANK that I can replace, so I don't get my brain bombarded with more complex stuff that it doesn't want or need. Thanks once more to all for their replies.

theres lots of info in the beginners section detailing the terms and abbreviations I and others have used .. I agree when first venturing into the vaping world there is a lot of confusing information, terms and abbreviations to get used to, one of the reasons that the prevailing rule in here is that there is NO SUCH THING AS A DAFT QUESTION.. we all walked into this blind and ignorant of the terms.. but we are a friendly bunch and are happy to take the time to help any newbie find their feet.. right the bottom bit or the battery is referred to as a 'Mod' the top bit is the atomiser or atomizer if your an american, or atty for short. they connect together with a 510 screw fitting -ve power on the thread/body, +ve in the central pin Yes you can change the atty, and there are loads of options more than i care to list but they fall into 2 general catagories 1) tank atomisers 2) dripper attomisers all will use a coil and wick to produce the vapour, these can be encapsulated inside a replaceable unit or head or be rebuildable with wire and cotton/silica/rayon by the user.. the former being the most accessible to beginners bur also cost more . a popular attomiser using replaceable coil heads which has a more restricted suck (like a ciggy) and uses 1ohm+ resistance coils is the nautilus. some folk find that once they get used to vaping that they get more from attomisers (atty's) with a more open and airy draw that use sub ohm (< 1 ohm resistance) coils which provide much more flavour but can use more juice more rapidly so they tend to be used with lower nicotine concentration juice.. hope thats less confusing.. So simply YES!

username you say your lungs are pretty shot, so one thing I would advise is to stick with vaping - it may take a little time & fiddling to sort a replacement tank that suits (sounds like a nauti should do it, so that's good) but lots of people with COPD and lung issues have seen an improvement over a relatively short time scale when switching from tobacco use to full-time vaping, so hang in there, it will get better

phatfil, thanks very much for that "playschool" post. Made me laugh even though I know it's a serious (as it were) and thought-out post that takes care to make it really easy for me. That was just what I needed, simple and with pretty pictures haha. Thank you too for confirming my screw-in bit on the atomiser (yes, I'm English) is a 510 - I was wondering that. As to the open and airy thing with sub-ohm. Something to bear in mind for flavour as so many of these liquids are just so dead for me or taste nothing like they are supposed to (though I find that with "flavourings" anyway). This is my second vaping venture and it was the same the first time. By the way, does sub-ohm vaping mean that your batteries also last longer? Anyway, I had a look last night over a few sites selling the aspire nautilus (5ml tank will save me a little bit of refilling). Seems it will do me so I'll likely go for that, though I might get a different part, the one with a lattice metal covering I think would look better with my 'Mod'. Guess I'll find out if the collar will still fit to keep it looking good. Thanks again for your help. username you say your lungs are pretty shot, so one thing I would advise is to stick with vaping - it may take a little time & fiddling to sort a replacement tank that suits (sounds like a nauti should do it, so that's good) but lots of people with COPD and lung issues have seen an improvement over a relatively short time scale when switching from tobacco use to full-time vaping, so hang in there, it will get better Thanks. I do have an improvement, to a small degree and only for the time being. I know it is temporary. Every day that I vape gives me pain, but it is much less pain than smoking. So it will do for as long as I can tolerate it. Or if I can eventually get to a point where my addiction is not so powerful that I have to inhale something to get my nicotine (even though I don't feel like I'm getting any buzz, my body must be getting something from it because I'm coping with no cigs).
