I have just started using 316l , it's maybe all in the mind , but I think I get a cleaner sort of taste would be the best way to describe it, using it in a Tfv4 with dual RBA at 40w.
I didn't find any difficulty building the coils and treated it much the same as Kanthal apart from the dry burn where I just had the coils glowing lightly.. Tweaked the coils a bit and Bob's your Uncle job done!

I would say 316 varies the most as it's the molybdenum content that varies in the different makeups. Personally I get on with 317L the best. It seems to have a steadier reaction on the curve and monitoring it in Escribe shows this. 430 has the largest curve but it's like half the resistance and very soft, almost like nickel. I did not like that. The curves are quite flat though so using a nice amount of wraps like 9/10 gives you more material to give you a greater reaction change to heat therefore tc seems to sense better. I use contact coils but if they naturally part slightly then fine as long as they glow evenly. As above I treat it like kanthal and I gently dry burn for cleaning. It definitely makes the juices flavours shine and to me make them sweeter. I feel it's a more natural taste of metal as like we eat off ss with our cutlery therefore we are accustomed to it. I like 24 gauge 317L and that's what I stick to but obviously this is all just my opinion and what I have found. I'm definitely not an expert

Not as resilient as kanthal for dry burning but they glow nicely enough
