Walking Dead, Haven, Criminal Minds, Continuum? I tried Walking dead out the sheer amount of hype it gets but the first season didn't grip me at all, finishes with those lights coming out of a wharehouse type thing? Not heard of Haven or Continuum? I love the Walking Dead. I struggled with The Wire for the first 5 or 6 episodes but after that I was completely hooked. Haven & Continuum are both a little different, but good watches. The other one that I watched compulsively, from start to finish, was The West Wing, an oldie but really good

Sopranos and The Wire, arguably the best TV ever made (possibly alongside Breaking Bad) Narcos is brilliant as well I quite enjoyed SOA but it was incredibly annoying at points, the final scene was dreadful - they must have been going at around 10mph. I have just started Man in the High Castle, still unsure about it. Nick Hi Nick, I forgot I have done Sopranos, although I never watched the last couple of episodes, heard the ending was terrible and its been years gone by so I guess I never will. I really tried the wire just didn't grip me. And SOA at the end yea, what was that speed all about, I did think at a couple of time if he hits something at the speed hell do well to brake both his legs. I only finished the Sopranos a couple of weeks ago. I remember there being a lot of debate around the final scene - didn't bother me that much. I thought the series outstanding. As for the Wire it absolutely captivated me. I was bought it by a mate who said I would love it. I have watched the whole thing three or four times now. The fifth series is the weakest, but Dominic West as McNulty ("WTF did I do") and Idris Elba as 'Stringer' Bell - just brilliant (at least for me). I do know a couple of other people who just couldn't get into it, and knowing them it surprised me. The other series to try is Band of Brothers - 10 episodes only but wonderful stuff. Nick

Have you tried House of Cards, I believe its similar themed?

I am enjoying this thread!
The Kevin Spacey Version series one is very good - not quite so sure about series 2. But if you like a bit of political intrigue you should really enjoy it.

Nick I just felt Sopranos was really easy watching, I wasn't interested in any character development or anything. Interesting to see how most of there careers developed afterwards though, thought Wendy was a bit wooden in SOA. The Wire, I tried most of the first season but it became that I was watching it just because so many thought I would like it.

james10 Gotham is awesome, its up there with Breaking Bad and Dexter. Season 1 has you guessing who will turn into which character. Season 2 is all about the bad guys and is the best thing I have seen in ages.

I will pop it on the shortlist on that recommendation. I keep thinking Colin Farrell as Bullseye but I'm guessing that's Hells Kitchen or something, did you watch that?

james10 How could I forget - The Shield. The guy who played the truck driver at the end of SOA is the main character - as well as Kenny Johnson, Jay Karnes and the wonderful CCH Pounder - all very Kurt Sutter. Great Show. It also has one of the best ending of any of these shows.

Great Show Id heard of that although I was a bit wary after the wire, assumed they would be similar. Talking of SOA cameo's, what was that all about with the Hoff?

+1 for Gotham I've been enjoying seeing characters we all know from a different perspective.
+2 for Sons of Anarchy - Think they probably did stretch it out a season or two too far but still made me want to become a motorcycle outlaw.
To ease the pain of Sons finishing I tried Breaking Bad. Great television with enough twists to keep me hooked til the end. (Didn't make me want to start cooking Meth).
I'll throw a few others out to see what people think:-
Orphan Black- I'm into series three. The initial premise is good not sure how much further it can go. Bastard Executioner - Written by the same guy who wrote SoA. My expectations were way high so ultimately I'm disappointed. Something to watch whilst waiting for the next series of Game of Thrones. Just found a new one called Into The Badlands. Only four episodes in so early days but it's got potential.

It is based on Rampart Division of the LAPD and a corrupt police unit. Definitely worth a go. The Hoff just gets everywhere. Nick

Walking Dead, Haven, Criminal Minds, Continuum? I really enjoyed Continuum but just as I was getting interesting they dropped it. Anybody remember flash forward? That was good and also got dropped after the first series. I seem to have a kiss of death on the good telly. Better call saul was a fun watch. But as I watched it dont hold out for season 2.

Which is strange as I adore Lost and I've still no idea what was going on there.
