Buying VG in Boots today

Found Myself pottering about in Melton Mowbray today (nice town, like it!..)..hit Boots whilst O/H in a clothes shop; 4 bottles of Glycerin on the shelf, Yay!
Said to the lady at the checkout 'You might wanna put some more on the shelf 'cos I've cleaned You out,' She replied:- 'Wot are You gonna use all that for?..'
Me:- (whipping the Nemi out of coat pocket & pointing at the Next-Gen tank) 'I use it to make vaping liquid',
Her: (looking shocked!..) 'OH! You should n't do that!....It's bad for Your lungs!!!'
Me:- 'So when You start supplying prescribed e-cigs....will they be purely Propylene Glycol based?...'
Her:- 'That'll be £5.36 please...SIR...'

When I asked in my local pharmacy if they could start stocking VG the assistant asked what I wanted it for. When I told him and showed him my vape kit he looked at me shocked and said "you can't use that it's antifreeze"

There was no budging him off that notion, no matter what I told him. Suffice to say, he told me they couldn't get any VG anyway Hence, I have to get mine all the way from the UK sent over here

You should of shown them a bottle of their cough syrup which is pretty much 100% VG

I really can't be arsed with the hassle of the assistant on the tills so order 5 bottles at a time on their website and then collect from the local pharmacy half a mile from home!!
No hassle no questions!!

what makes me chuckle is most pharmacies used to stock nicotine for use as a garden pest control product but you ask them for the food/pharma grade pg or vg (used for baking or herbal remedies) and they go mental at you, last year I was at the local chemist when some guy wandered in and asked about procuring nicotine and he was politly informed that without a council pest controller certificate he wasn't going to be able ot purchase it, two days later he was in possession of said certificate and was able to buy a litre of the stuff without any other checks beign put in place, yet when he asked if htye were likely to stock the larger containers for VG or just the half litre bottles he was told he couldn't get that unless he ran a bakery, only the small sizes ..... I figured out pretty fast he wasn't using the nic for pest control but I did wonder just how much vg or pg he would need ot mix it with to make it safe for vaping .....

i would be wary of using insecticide nicotine as it seems to contain a significant proportion of nicotine sulphate which may not be so friendly to vaping ???
fwiw @kew they use the spider legs from the gardners backy pouches to steep in water for a week or so for a nicotine spray insecticide..

Too true! I really can't be arsed wiv shopping, full stop! I only went in there 'cos O/H was in a clothes shop & I could n't go back in the pub THAT quickly!

Picked up 20 bottles today that I had ordered online, the pharmacist said what's this it's very heavy? I didn't reply but he looked on his till when he scanned it and the eyebrows raised, I wasn't going to explain anything much to his dismay...

That's even better then. I always found the boots stuff extremely thick and gloopy, even syringing without a needle took forever.

I got a lecture at Asda the other day from an alcoholic with a rucksack full of cheap cans who was going home via about 3 pubs to 'break up the journey as he was walking'
