Burning wicks

Daughter still uses Evods and Evod batteries despite many attempts from me to get her to use something better.


I mixed her some juice a couple of months ago and it vaped fine, mixed some a few weeks ago which she has just started using and she has burnt 5 coils in a week with it!

The juice was Smok gold and silver mixed 70-30 pg/vg at 6% nic exactly the same as the last, the vg to me isn't high enough to make it too thick to wick as I used to use 50/50 in protanks and it was fine.


It's got me a bit stumped this one

a duff pack of coils ?

I have experienced 15 duff coils in a row from different suppliers, I thought it might of been the juice after it poped 15 of them but then I got a new tank and chugged 2 bottles of the stuff down /

Had that thought as well nanotm she's tried new coils and ones that I have recoiled with cotton.

try it in a different tank and see if it does the same thing, then try with a different mod,

it could be her mod is on the way out and blasting the coils at full power causing the problem, it could be the tank is allowing air in and not allowing the juice to flow properly, either of which will necessitate changing her kit /

get something with a digital display set it to the correct power output and lock it so all she has to do is charge and use / I had an evod style unit go bad and it nuked 2 tanks before I realised the battery was faulty

Ahh now that's a thought nanotm, I'll try to get her to try some different kit, mind that's like trying to get a four year old to try sprouts at Christmas.

smarties you could try her battery on one of your rba decks just to see what it does, build it to the standard (I presume 1.8/2.2ohm coil) and dry burn it with standard A1 coils, if it pops the coil you know its her mod and then just have to give her one of your spare isticks (or similar) until you can get another mod for her (but after a few days of istick she wont want to go back )

I've just lured her into taking an istick 40w with one of the naturevape tanks with a nice new cotton microcoil in it, pretty sure she won't like it she was grumbling at me walking out of the door

I made my misses swap from one of my old evod style kits to an istick /mini nauti combo with an angled tip and she grumbled abut it for a few hours then decided its 10x better especially since I locked the changer and she just switches on /off/puffs as required exactly the same as the old evod style unit ..... I get that some people like simplicity but you get a better quality of simplicity with the more advanced stuff
