From what i can glean, she was ordered sorbitol but they supplied sodium nitrite instead (labelled as sorbitol). Both are solid powders. I expect that such a mislabelling snafu is the reason for the warning and advice, while they figure what is correctly labelled and what is not.

From the email which I also received - "Warning about Food Grade Chemicals purchased from Mistral
To all customers who have bought food grade chemicals for use in food production from R & D Laboratories Ltd. (Mistral Chemicals)."
The stuff I bought was pharmaceutical grade PG so should not be covered by the warning luckily. Still not an email you want to be receiving though.
I've been using it since I got it to make 50/50 with and all my current juices are mixed with it. I am keeping an eye on it but I'm not going to stop using it unless they have a full recall since I bought the higher grade stuff - I would be hard pushed to afford replacing all my stock of juice.

Not quite the same but I'm on prescribed medication. due to NHS shortage of cash, I normally get generics. I noticed that I did much better on a certain brand of generic, talked to the pharmacist who agreed that it probably wasn't just in my mind. My pharmacist has done the best he could to make sure I always get the same brand. that particular maker of this drug has just recently lost the liscence to make it it's been found that it has not been an equivilent (sp?) dose to other generics it's not been found to be dangerous at all, the pharmacist is still ok to give me on prescription what he has in stock, but the maker cannot make any more The pharmacist also told me that customers are now complaining about any drug manufactured by that company and they are demanding alternatives, yet there is nothing that this company has done that is dangerous

I did speak to R & D Laboratories last week and they assured me that the PG and VG were not part of the problem (een though their email seems to contradict that).
Just to be on the safe side though, we've changed suppliers, at least in the short term.
Mistral may not be supplying it again for quite some time.

Following on from what Verey said, I thought we were only supposed to use pharma grade PG and VG? Surely our vendors stick to that rule too, so even if it was their VG/PG, will it affect the vaping community???
