To me they would be better selling the chip/coil/element separately rather than trying to sell the whole lot in one unit. If the chip is as good as they say it is then others will no doubt copy it, or redesign it regardless of any patents out there. By putting the coil out for others to use will probably generate more overall sales and lessen the chance of copies coming out.

I think the thing here is that it has taken 2 years to develop. Now vaping has moved on and of course we have regulations being put in place that was not even considered then. So the questions will be:- Will it work? Will it be a good enough device to actually improve vaping? Now, the money grabbing politicians will ensure that innovation will probably slow to a crawl if any is made at all. They hope that the current numbers of vapers will start to decline and tax on ciggies will either stabilise and the decline stopped or improve as vapers cannot get the kit they crave. A lot of inovation already comes from China. They will always inovate if it will make them money, regardless of TPD imo. The TPD and the FDA in the States if they get they're way, will close off a lot of European and American markets to the Chinese and if they lose a lot of income from sales this may well stop them innovating. I believe that the USA and Europe are far and away their biggest markets.

A very good point letsavit as the 510 is probably holding back further real advances at the moment, but with something like a 400 million or so Mods and attys out there with this connector which manufacturer will make the first move. And the TPD and the FDA in the States will make it risky. exactly that mate, with such an uncertain market whos going invest that much into what really is such a small market...... As VE Jason pointed out us temp control users are minority playing with the most advance equipment which compared to what's around us is still stuck in the stones ages..! Edit... But I'm happy, if Apple invented something I think I would still enjoy a good old bit of wire and cotton on a dripper. Treated myself to a bean to cup coffee machine for Christmas, used it once and sent it back to Amazon, got my Italian Bialetti out, stuck it on the gas stove and remembered what real coffee tasted like......think that was invented in the 1930s...! What one did you (albeit briefly) go for? I've bean (see what I did there?) looking (Lusting) at one of Heston Bloomin'hell they're expensive!

daglThis one Boxing Day flash sale so £240, got some Lavazza beans I know well, despite the good reviews it wasn't that great , even with the discount.... Had an easy espresso pod thing before which broke, been using "posh" instant for a while but after sending the bean to cup machine back I got the old skool Bialetti out And soo glad I did... Proper coffee Makes two very nice strong espressos, let it simmer slowly, mmmmm just bought the Bialetti frother, cheating at the moment a with a whisk and microwave..... Kinda the point so not total derail guys, does vaping have to advance, my coffee making hasn't............?
