Just got back from a local am dram pantomime and I must say I pissed myself for most of the night.
Not that it was the best thing since sliced bread, but they worked so hard to entertain and the things that went wrong were just so funny.
Curtains sticking halfway up and down......
Lights not coming on, so they carried on in the dark Smiling
Mics not working when they went to the left side of the stage, so they all talked out of the right side of the mouth to the right.
30 seconds of silence whilst they tried to remember who was to speak next, then forgetting what to say.
The theatre was freezing as its not been open for months.
You know I may just try and join them this year, I love a good laugh Smiling
And they worked so bloody hard, the kids and the adults to make sure that no matter what, we had our monies worth.
Anyone here involved in your local amdram?

Well done to all of them Only amdram I've ever been involved with was in several works social club Christmas party pantomime. Oh and sort of, as a ladies Mummer - for some unknown reason, I was always cast as the tart that was "killed" & had to be resurrected My opening lines got me in a lot of trouble - "In comes I bold Mary Read, I live on gin & brandy, the gin it makes my temper short, the brandy makes me randy"
