I've mixed a juice recipe from a guy called HIC on an American forum, it had lemon, anise and creams in it and after a few weeks it definitely seemed flat.

Am I storing it wrong? Closed wooden box, cool environment.

Maybe I should put larger quantities in the fridge?

I have not had any go wonkie as yet.i just leave mine in a normal cupboard.

The custards are fine, it was just this one juice.

50ml of it, great at the start, but about 20ml got left for a while and then seemed flat.

Ah well, buggered it up somewhere along the way. Next time 30ml and won't leave any!

I have had a few strawberry based diy juice go weak with steeping, seems strawberry is susceptible to this (certainly TPA) i just add another 1% later if required.

Especially if its been used in conjunction with Vanilla Bean Ice cream flavouring

that could be why i have not had this problem as i will not vape strawberry hate the stuff

I use absinthe in a blend I mix for my wife,
Anyway I mix it by the ltr and as you mentioned this also loses its zip after a while so we store it in the fridge and decant 60ml @ a time,
This mix is best when freshly mixed as you can pick out the different flavours but when it's steeped it loses its edge,
So life in the fridge slows the steeping, this may or may not help but it Works for us,

Bet the guy is talking about the strawberry and vanilla bean ice cream mix I had the same with it it's the vanilla bean ice cream that I find don't like to be steeped, 1 week it's very nice 2 week it's terrible.

Apparently adding a tiny amount (1% I think) of Dragonfruit will reduce the rate the strawberry flavour dies off.

We're heading back into the realms of uncharted chemistry here so only experiment with what you'll be happy to dump if it all goes wrong.

The one I mixed had lemon, anise and creams in it. The anise definitely dropped way off.

Next time will mix a smaller amount and go to town on it.

Best bet ( once you know you like it) is to mix batches at various times, then after few weeks you will have some ready, some steeping, and concentrates ready to make more.

I now do 300ml monthly, just keeping the cycle going.
