Bought this mod as a fixer upper so I thought Id post this as it may help others out. Not an easy fix & needs some specialist tools not everyone may have. I just happen to have all the bits n bobs in stock so to speak so thought Id give it a whirl before buying a new frame. 1 cheap FT 510  Take the pin/insulator out.  Forgot to take the camera to the shed but I drilled and tapped the frame out to M10x1  Sawed off the excess and dremmel finished so I could get the frame back on.  Top view. (wish I could get the cross straight but didnt want to force it)  Reassembled, looks like it was meant to be like that me thinks.  Stick a tank on, jobs a good'un!  Every tank Ive tried on has fired but would presume a real short 510 tank might not make the pin as its around a mil higher with the new 510 flange on top. |

top job.. good to have a roadmap to fall back on.. ive been oh so careful with my vts so far.. but ???? TBH I dont think the brass 510 is the achiles heel of these mods. The spring under the center pin IMO is way to strong, but theres not a lot you can do with it but be careful. |
