Mini on left full size Nauti on right shown with optional steel tanks welcome to the forum These look very pretty too. Daft question but do they all have universal fittings? Yes, they all have what is known as 510 fittings

A very warm and hearty AAE-C chocfox to the friendly forum that likes to give. It gives advice, help and support stockings much more frequently than all the others put together. We pride ourselves on it. As to your question about standard fittings the evod tank you use will need an adapter for more up-to-date mod batteries and the 510 connection on modern tanks will fit your old evod batteries. Internally the Coil Heads used in many different devices are not always interchangeable and a Kangertech protank coil will not fit in a Nautilus and vice versa. Even in Kangertech Atties (atomisers the bit the juice goes in) there are differences between different models caused by the need for higher watts and more airflow etc. over time. If you haven't done so already I would visit Absolute Beginners and work your way through it for some great info.

chocfox - hi and a warm welcome from me too! You just need to be careful as sydsut mentions; different tanks from different manufacturers take different 'coil heads' - the atomiser bit that vapourises the juice - and no, they aren't all interchangeable. Stick with one make and model and you'll be fine, but it's best to start off buying the tank and coils from the same vendor to make sure they fit. You might want to consider upgrading as there are so many good intermediate set-ups around now. Something like this Topbox Kit would be a good upgrade giving you much better vaping and versatility. Hope this helps; I'm sure others will chip in with their suggestions too

From all the hype I would say the endura t18 or t22 would be the best product for smokers that are looking to quit although maybe not as you can't change the power given to the coils.. Apart from that you can't go wrong with a nautilus as already posted.. Ohh and welcome to AAEC chocfox

chocfox - it really depends on various factors; do you 'mouth-to-lung', like smoking a cigarette, taking the vapour into your mouth first and then inhaling, or 'direct-to-lung', where you essentially breathe in the vapour, a bit like a reverse whistle, straight into your lungs. If you MTL, you want a fairly closed airflow and higher resistance coils so that the coil heats up more slowly and you get a good mouthful of vapour first before inhaling. A juice ratio of roughly 50/50 PG/VG works well for this. If you DTL inhale, you will need much more airflow and a lower resistance coil sub-ohm, or under 1ohm resistance, works well). Also, higher VG juices will produce more vapour and the extra juice vapourised each time would produce the required flavour. The Mini Nautilus is a good tank, as is the Innokin iSub range of tanks. Both can run higher resistance coils for MTL vaping, whilst the iSub works really well with .5ohm coils for lung inhales. There are RBA decks (where you make the coils yourself, wicking with cotton or similar) should you want to do this at some time in the future. Hope this helps, but please shout before you commit, perhaps with a link to the product you are considering, and we can advise. Nothing worse than wasting your hard-earned cash!!

Hello again everyone. Just an update. I visited my local vape shop and came away with an eleaf istick and Aspire. Nice kit but 1 week in I'm finding it does the same thing as the Evod - hissing, spitting and popping. Does it need a new coil already? I'm scared to use it! I'm not a heavy vaper but I enjoy a vape on my commute to work and back and a bit in the evening, I don't use it during the day apart from weekends. What am I doing wrong? x

Welcome aboard chocfox. hissing and spitting is a common occurrence with clearomisers. The trick to being a happy vaper is learning to whip it. Wrap a kitchen towel over the drip tip and give it a quick flick in a downwards motion it will expel any rouge juice out the drip tip. A quick wipe up and it should be good to go. If you arent using it for a long periods there best stored with the drip tip down.

Hissing and spitting is simply a sign that the coil is new, and absolutely nothing to worry about. As the coil beds in and acquires a coating of caramelised juice it will calm down. phtumshk's advice will stop it in the short term, and after a couple of tanks, you might get a muted 'pop' but again nothing to get concerned about.

What wattage are you running your Nautilus at, on your iStick out of interest chocfox? Around 11 watts I find is good for me on an iStick 30w . . . . whilst there is some noise, there's certainly no spitting.

Yep, the higher you have the watts, the more the juice will spit, so turn it down a bit chocfox, until you find what works for you.
