Next-Gen (FT clone)...Has anyone successfully removed the Pos. pin from the 510? Both of mine are shorting & I can't see how to get the insulator out of the 510 base wivout mangling it!..... TIA!

Mine is a press fit, to get it out i held it upside down on a piece of perspex (to save the upper thread bit of the pos pin) then pressed down on the main steel bit whilst screwing the slotted pos pin. if that makes sense. I was actually trying to get the pin out, but it has now fused to the insulator. like this.

Thanks for that, ditto the photo! That's basically what I've been trying (minus the Perspex!!) I reckon I've melted the insulators when pulsing/dry-burning...& also reckon that one of the pins is gonna be gash 'cos the screwdriver slipped!..... I've checked on both the FT & ECF Forums & ironically, the 1st buyers were finding that the insulators were slipping/spinning....Christ, the manufacturers certainly fixed this!! & what's the chance of FT supplying spare complete 510/pin assemblies now that 3 of Their 4 Next-Gen versions are dis-con.? Sorry, this is starting to turn into a rant!! Thanks again, I'll persevere!!

Sounds drastic but try some WD40 or similar on it I think mine only came out so easy cos it had been used and would have juice around making it free to spin though it was still hella tight . The pin however I fear is stuck for life in the insulator. There a cracking lil tank when its goin good well worth persevering. Good luck with it.
