Don't leave. Educating the future generation is one of the most important and rewarding things to do. Kids maybe little bastards (I was) but if you effect a change in one child, educate that one child, change the future of one child, that one child will respect, appreciate and thank you always.
Sadly the days of parents teaching their children standards/manners/common sense have gone, they think its your job to teach their children the basics. That's just the times we live in. Teaching is a noble profession but its run by tits who would struggle to find their arse will a map and mirror.
I hated school, hated college, dropped out, got a job and they sent me back to college, they paid for my Degree and Masters.
I cannot praise teachers enough, I couldn't do it I'd floor the first lippy kid and then their parents.

Well Edge, I am Salford born and Bred mate and so is all my family and can honestly say that school for me was one of the worst. I know I have and still make changes to some of these kids for the good, but sadly this wont make the rest of the day any better.
I know I said this and that about the kids in the OP, but I consider that if the kids do this or that, thats just them being human and teenagers (I know some dont put the two together), but its the system that makes what they do MY fault.
You cook a meal and the customer does not eat it? Its been cooked properly and delivered correctly, but the management take the view that its your fault. Of course they may have had a chippy tea before arriving to your place or a belly ache, but its your fault of course. Its this part that is getting me down.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way, having spoken to a few in your profession recently, its apparent you're by far not alone. So many teachers are jumping ship right now that I imagine the government will find a real shortage In ten years time. Possibly on purpose so they can contract it out.
Please don't mark my grammar.

Of course you'll likely have experienced the line.."you are not indispensable" a few times? I recognised that piece early on and took appropriate action(s) and that included the freak military. I also knew where my replacement likely would come from and this is the 70's thru 90's.
I won't go too far with this point but the pick of the replacement(s) has been and is much, much wider. My son is currently in IT in London...I'll say no more!
