Folks, I have issues. Not 'those' ones but my TFV4.
For the second night running I took the batteries out of the mod and left 'Tommy' screwed in. As always when Tommy is not in use I close up his air holes (in case he gets cold.)
I had just filled up an amazing DIY gingerbread cream ready for the morning. (I take my Crown to the bedroom as I like variety and I'm happy to admit that whilst I've also taken Tommy to bed in the past I do prefer 'Ursula'.)
My apologies, I digress.
I came down this morning expecting my taste buds to come alive with ginger only to find Tommy had shot his load everywhere.
Tommy was stood up to attention all night on top of his friend Sig Fuchai.
Tommy does not do this in the day or whilst I'm using him.
Why Tommy why?
Is he jealous I take Ursula to bed? Is he consciously telling me he doesn't like my juice? Or (I know this is unlikely) is it something technical?

RangersBillyBoytheres a lot of threads about tfv4 leak issues, chances are like mine one of the O-rings is damaged, I also found fitting one of the supplied tank rings around the top (so it covers the refill lid) helps to maintain the vacuum in the tank, pull it apart give it a thorough clean check the orings on each end (normally if you fit the sleeve to the base and upper assembly with a twist or turning motion the orings will pinch and it will cause a slow leak) the other oring that almost always develops a fault is the one on the coil, i'm starting to think the tfv4 has a design flaw or they used non thermally stable silicon for the orings because of how often mine leaks, ive changed out the coil orings twice due ot the way they deform (which always seems to randomly happen during use)

This only ever happens to me if I overfill....I always leave a visible 2mm gap at the top of the liquid viewed in the vertical. If I fill without seeing the gap, then it's guaranteed to leak and empty it's contents through the airflow slots.

I've been using it all day totally leak free.

Will you ever learn not to give Tommy a drink before bed wait until he wakes in the morning also remember to give him high praise if he has a dry night. Do you ever think he might just be jealous of Ursula? (just noticed you realized the jealousy bit) Seriously I've no idea seems all tanks are temperamental buggers I placed my subtank in my handbag one day and it emptied it's entire contents all over my bag after I swore at it a few times it's been very well behaved I did nothing different that day and nothing different after yet it's never done it again.

We occasionally have cheese and biscuits late in the evening. Quite possibly Tommy may have suffered a nightmare from eating Roquefort too late. I used to take a sub called Kanger to bed. Then Ursula came into my life. She is not without her faults; her temperamental coils for example.

Check the glass tank very carefully RangersBillyBoy... we had a customer who came in with one with the minutest chip in the top of the glass. Not enough to see without taking it apart, but enough to stop the vacuum... swapped over to the spare glass and it was fine (y)

I can't see any cracks or chips however I have now used the spare glass. If over night Tommy disgraces himself again I might have to consider the kind option and put him to sleep.

Could it be his incontinence pad have you tried changing it? Are they ready made pads or make your own? What sort of tank person is Tommy?

I shall say no more than Tommy has been a life saver, a dear friend and a man servant. Ursula keeps me awake on occasion. A very tempting site sat next to me in bed.
