Since I gave up the stinkies last September I have bought 8 and have my eye on a few others. If I add up what I have spent on vape gear compared to what I would have spent on rollie baccy I'm out of pocket, but I'm a lot healthier and I don't stink of fags, buying shiny things is a lot more satisfying that buying baccy, you have something to show for your hard earned cash rather than it going up in smoke

PennyMod, Provari3, Atmizoo, Brass pipe thingy, Cigareen wooden box, Cuboid, homemade dna40, chinese dna40, a different chinese dna40, pioneer ipv2, istick 20, istick 50, istick 100, and an evic vt.
Not included are a handful of egos donated to folk trying vaping, and a (small) number of homemade dna attempts gone wrong, plus the provari 2 I managed to wreck.

I go and get my juice and bits and pieces. I'm always looking for new mods. it's exciting stuff. I try and stick to my 4 mods don't want anymore than that really. When a new ones comes out. I let one go.

But like you said, it's like a hobby to me too, and I have now taking the plunge and started making my own coils which is very satisfying

You wouldn't get much for a dirty ashtray

I even tried the pre made coils when I got a keyfun a while back. Fidly and couldn't get the wicking right either. I think that's what put me off to be honest.

I have tried and failed I really don't have any patience:) TBH I didn't think I had the patience either, watched loads of vids and thought its too much fiddling about (I hate having to rewire a plug those little screws do my head in) but thought what the heck I will give it go, my first attempt wasn't brilliant dual coil for my Steam Crave RDTA but second attempt was spot on and I was well chuffed with myself. Give it a go you may surprise yourself

Well done. I honestly really want to do this. As I am spending so much money on coils and juice. It doesn't really effect me as I don't smoke no more and I only ever drink on a birthday or a celebration I'm not a drinker. But maybe it's money I could be saving. Or going on shopping spres:)

As luck has it I seem to love tinkering, i'll waste hours in a day on vaping chores but I'm not a natural DIY mixer or experimental coiler, I do them both out of necessity and neither of them fill me with dread. I wouldn't say I was great at either, but I'm competent enough.
If you practice by following tutorials and watching youtube videos until you have got to grips with each tank you own then you can still use shop bought coils (I do on some out and about tanks) but you will know that you have the option to do rebuildables if you so wish.
I dont think I attempted rebuilding stock coils for months -- and only did protanks. Members kept saying that if you can do those tiny fiddly coils then an atomiser deck wouldn't be a challenge and it wasn't as its a much larger surface area.
