Hello all. Anyone else had problems with the threaded connector on the I-taste 3.0? Had one for about 3 weeks and have noticed that my iclear 30, Aspire ET-S GLASS and my Aspire Vivi Nova don't appear to screw down all the way or at-least not far enough to secure it without wobbling. With that there's also a problem with the ohms's jumping around occasionally, a 1.6 ohm coil will sometimes make it's way up-to 2.0 ohms's and has a handful of times fired showing 5.6 ohms Have pushed the spring down in an attempt to somehow reset it but that was a no go.. Any other thoughts or should I be looking for a replacement?

The problem with that is that PTFE tape is insulative and the 510 uses the threaded part for negative battery connection.

What about a little conductive tape.

When I get an extra set of hands tomorrow I'll post a short vid to illustrate the problem. Thinking on, it does feel like the threaded connector is somehow loose inside..

I read elsewhere that some had slightly poor threads, which is what made me think a little help to firm it up might be worth a shot.

What about a little conductive tape. If it's thin enough and strong enough to survive threading, that might work (I didn't know that that stuff existed, but it appears it does!). Although it sounds that the OP swaps a number of ati's/tanks on the same mod.

If the attys arent screwed down and wobbley may be where the false readings are coming from. Is this a new thing or did the attys screw all the way down to start with? If the 510 is shot you used to be able to put a decent Fat daddy type 510 on the old MVPs. Must be do-able with the V3. Or you could try a 510 heatsink/saver like Then screw yo atty on..

Unfortunately dusty , you can try all the above suggestions but this is the only way to cure your problem. Fitting a Varitube 510. The original threading is press fit, when it comes loose it moves. Under the top cap, it's a double sleeve. The battery Neg. is soldered (poorly) to the outer sleeve and the internal sleeve , which is the 510 threading, touches the outer sleeve and causes the ohms issue you are having. I have fitted five MVP 3's with Varitube 510's and all worked perfectly until they developed other issues. If you can use a soldering iron, I could send you a top cap fitted with a Varitube 510, it's only two wires to be soldered. Or you might want to opt for a new mod

Hello all. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated! Quick vid below showing the problem. Just to point out that I've only really used the Aspire on this mod and if memory serves it's been off maybe 5 times. As PMS pointed out if I had been swapping out atty's I could understand the thread getting some stick and maybe failing but in this instance it hasn't really been messed around with. When it comes to mod care I'm a bit neurotic, as us ex smokers will know (back in the day) the dread leaving the house without a packet of smokes this is much the same, well for me it is Might well ask the vendor if I can send back for a replacement and then do the mod phtumshk & striker suggested albeit a bit of a pain in the a4$3... Is this a new thing or did the attys screw all the way down to start with? I'd say it's been like that from new, maybe not as bad but progressively getting worst. Didn't really want to make a fuss about it because it was cheap. I'm starting to realise why now..

The mod seems a good shout.
