get two slices of thick sliced white bread slaver English mustard all over it (good thick layer) fry up some bacon and eat as a sandwich, the mustard works to kill the bacteria and flush out your nasal cavity the bread and bacon replace salts that carbs and protiens needed ot fight the cold. and yes its an old wives tale but in 20 years every time ive tried it its worked so the only reason not to try it is the fact I dislike the burning sensation

Could be though I still chain it in the evening BUT I also take deep breaths of air in between sometimes. It you're worried, mention it to your doctor when you see them. Could be, off the top of my head, a lack of oxygen but I've no medical knowledge so don't go on what I say. I'm just guessing. (Last night, youngest bounced off the wall with his head and had a bag of frozen sweetcorn on the bump for 10 mins. That's about as far as my expertise goes ) All your years of medical training did not go to waste @spikeyfridge

If you have a bad cold it's quite likely you have a chest infection as well or at least restricted airways. This will mean your body is not getting enough oxygen hence the feeling of light-headiness. Also I am concerned that you are not eating enough. Remember a good balanced diet is better than fasting for long term manageable weight loss or to maintain a weight level. Also the old addage "starve a fever, feed a cold" is what I'd recommend. Get some carbs in you Girl! a good start is a wholemeal bread sandwhich with ham and salad or subsitute the ham with something else if you like. Plus a nice big mug of soup, either home made or one of the chunky types. This will give your boody the nutrients it needs to be able to fight your cold. Take car of yourself. Ok I had lots of chest infections when on the stinkies - it's not that!!! And hardly ate beginning of last week because I had no appetite - so eating was kind of tricky :-( then I Had to fast pre blood test by order of the medics - ate fine after Eating fine just now - maybe not to obese levels but I've no intention of being obese! I had a KFC over the weekend and have just had ice cream- hardly the diet of an anorexic!!!

LOL
