Yep, the Nitecore i2, D2, i4 & D4 all charge at max of 750 mA, i4 & D4 max of 375 mA with 3 or 4 cells compared to the 2 A from the Xtar SP2 it's a massive difference. Just has a quick look and ther are some on eBay for £18 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261965232440. IMO I would get a 2nd SP2 because you can charge 4 batteries with 2 of these in under 2 hours vs the D4s will take 8+ hours. I don't charge batteries unattended and with a good stock of batteries I never have to find time to charge batteries or run out of charged batteries, both of these things really pi55 me off so I think it's a good investment. Time estimates are based on the batteries needing a full charge, you can shorten them by topping up more often. Also not all batteries will take a 2 A charge, HG2, HE2, HE4, 25R & VTCs are all rated a 4 A fast charge so it's not going to stress them much.

Personally I have to buy things in £8 increments so as not to upset the mrs too much (wish I was joking). She still has shell shock from my days of RC helis where I wouldn't think twice about spending a grand on lipo's, chargers and the latest trex. I tread carefully .

I wish i had got another sp2 but thought it would be better or should i say easier to just use a 4 bay charger rather than 2 two bay ones. live and learn i suppose. The D4 has now been put to bed (lucky its not been beaten to death) and the sp has come back out to play.

I needed a new charger and after a lot of thinking I went for this one www.vapegear.co.uk/product/luc-v4 and what a fantastic charger it is I cannot fault it at all, I put 3 shockLi 3000 battery's in it set to 1a and it takes a hour to charge them then turns off I'd recommend this charger.

Something is very wrong there it should only charge them a third max in an hour at 1 A, but normally less as the last 15 mins or so they slow down when the battery gets close to the max voltage, this is the constant voltage stage. 1 A for an hour = 1 Ah = 1,000 mAh, hopefully it's just they were > 2/3 full when you put them on charge.

I never let my battery's go flat before I charge them.
