There we were yesterday, I had knackered my knee so could not go out ambulance driving (volunteer driver for a well known charity)
Put a latest series episode on Kodi as I was having my lunch and bang
Sparks from the back of the tv
Ariel y adaptor blown in three parts 48" TV dead Surround sound amp dead Home theatre pc dead Sky TV box dead 32" tv that was not on dead BT home hub dead Wireless extender dead 8 port network hub dead The splitter that plugs into the bt master socket 3 pieces BT master socket dead 4 network boxes that plug into the sockets dead 8 light bulbs blown Wireless telephone dead
Spent the day trying to get back online and at least get a telephone working again
If anyone has a home hub go, tp link vdsl N600 modem will get you out the mire
Now we are waiting on an insurance assessor to turn up next week some time to tell us what they think the damage is worth
Talk about a crap day

So do we, got my eyes on a nice tv in a sale at curry's Found one of the laptops had a blown power supply today Trying to watch tv on a 27" aint good This is the little box that connects the router to the phone socket. One that's not blown to bits and the one that was, so you can see what it should look like The star shaped bit was plugged into the wall socket. The end of the lead with a chunk missing, was in the back of the tv we were watching

We had the TV moved out today whilst I did a tidy up on the speaker wires etc behind it and had a look at the aerial socket Two burn marks in the carpet. One about half a small finger nail size, the other about a fag burn size This is what the other end of that tv aerial lead looks like. The missing part I think the insurance assessor will have a good idea the TV got hit

Well I had to join the search for a TV today, got up this morning and the wife had left a note, TV not switching off, did a quick check and sure enough it just kept looping and clicking, turned off at the main and left it for a bit, turn back on and could here it trying to push power to the screen but no go seemed like the plasma panel had failed. So a hour or more of trawling the net and I came upon Richer sounds and had a nosey round saw a couple and started to read up, when my son surfaced we had a chat and another look at the TV hi first thought plasma panel, and suggested I look at Hisense as his mate had just got one with pretty good spec and not excessive, thought why not have a look found a 50" for under £400 phoned and checked they had it in the local store so said keep it for me I will be down shortly, got there he goes off to get it, comes back and apologises the stand is not there but he could take something off the prices of the newer model and the warranty so I went for it got the newer model and a 6 year warranty for £423, came home set it up and it is actually an excellent 4k smart TV with wifi which connected in seconds www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/hisense/50m3300/hise-50m3300 so if your looking for a replacement this might be worth a look, they are the biggest TV maker in China and the screen/ panel is most likely from LG. A potted history en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hisense
