Want to give this a go but dont really know what type to get, so over to you guys who already using it, what should i be buying?
Going to be using it in a Griffin 25, Serpent and Velocity RDA, maybe with temp control but mostly in power mode.
Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think i'm the last person to answer but I'm posting as I'm also after temperature control advice so will follow thread eagerly I do know that it can depend on what TC mod/battery/chip you are using as some are better than others and that an evolve dna40 chip only does Ti ... beyond that I'm still in the early learning stages too

I use 24 awg in my griffin and serpent works very well for me either in Tc mode or wattage. 316L is what I use and I get it from stealthvape.

I'm not much good either with temp control furbs, Pepperty, but I got a roll of 26 gauge 316 ss on Thursday. Put a dual coil in an Alliance V2 dripper. Tried it in TC mode and it does absolutely nothing when the fire button is pressed. In normal wattage mode, for me, it's no different to kanthal. So I'll be following this with a bit of interest too. Looking forward to VF where I will hopefully get a lesson in TC from VapingBad or some of the folks that understand it a bit better than me. In the meantime I'm not going to beat myself up over it. IMO, you'll never miss what you've never had and I'm happy with the way my gear is set up at the moment anyway.

The other day, I was in my local cafe and bought a 22mm Griffin so I did a dual 5 wrap 3mm dia, 28G microcoil using 316L from Stealth Vape, it comes out at 0.10 ohms & fires up nicely at 430°F and 50w

Ive pondered SS in power mode, but not sure whether you should be aiming for your regular ohmage or going lower. Will also be interested to see whats what with SS.

I have tried TC but decided it was not for me in it's current state of development. I am however interested in what advantages SS has to offer over Kanthal in power mode.

SS heats up quicker and has around half the resistance of kanthal. I do think it makes juices taste slightly sweeter. Ive been messing with tc since the ipv4 came out and recently on DNA200'S. Ive tried practically every ss wire type in tc and I I find it a right headache tbh. The mods seem to struggle with it from what I've found and it loses track of what's happening at times. I tried to perfect it since the DNA200's came out and in the end meh. I'm on power mode with kanthal claptons and yes it has a small ramp up time but I am really enjoying my vape now. Ive come to the conclusion that if you can coil & wick well and keep your tanks topped up, then there ain't much point. I do like the idea of tc and the safety just incase factor but nah I'm out for now

So i can run SS coil off the bat with a non TC mod with no probs?
What sort of resistance should i be going for? I vape around .3 to .6 with kanthal.

SS is fantastic with TC on a DNA 75, not as good on anything else I have tried. With a DNA 200 you can take advantage of the preheat in temp mod and keep the watts to just maintain the vape a little below the temp limit there is an update that will bring the DNA 75 refinements for ss coming to the DNA 200 in the near future. I still find Ni200 the best wire to work with, clean and vape with temp limiting, Ti and NiFe30 are both very good also.
You can run any wire in power mode on a DNA or other mod that has real-time power regulation, IDK which other mods do, but as far as I am aware none of the YiHi (IPV & SX series) do real time power regulation so you will get bad results on those, though ss has such a low TCR it will still be OK and you will a tailing off of the power as it heats.

Yes I might try ss again when the refinements arrive. Surely it can't be far away now. Personally I don't like any other wires apart from kanthal and ss even though I agree with VapingBad they do work very well in TC
