Clutch gone in car

What a bummer, got in my car to take my daughter to Basingstoke about 50 mile away to look at a car to buy and the clutch goes in my car.

This also happens to me,Ive only got to think of buying a new bike and the old 1 throws a hissy fit and breaks down.
Who says inanimate objects dont have feelings.
In my case it always ends up like this.

Its a Ford Focus 07 plate. It goes in gear with the engine off but not when its running and it is slipping anyway.

Sounds like it's gone what does the pedal feel like? They ain't that baday to do so should cost to too much hat engine is it?

Pedal is a bit soft and its a 1600 petrol

Shouldn't cost much to change and I don't think the 1.6 has the dreaded dual mass flywheel so would look to be paying about £150 job done. Could just be master or slave cylinder that's gone does the pedal come back up on its own?

I was thinking clutches going was largely, not completely, a thing of the past, my old passat PD clutch lasted 170k miles with a mass damped flywheel and my beamer diesel is going strong at 135k. Had to do a clutch on xmas eve with no clutch aligner or ramps etc so I do feel your pain.
