Nicotine base in PG used to be the most popular arieskaz (when I was a vendor). I think that it is more stable/ stores better too, imho. Both types of 72mg/ml nicbase's can achieve a wide range of PG/VG ratios at usual e-liquid nicotine strengths. But if you want VG max mixes (due to a PG intolerance or desire for big clouds) then get VG nicbase. To answer definitively, we'd need to know what strength of e-liquid that you vape, and do you know the PG/VG ratio of it? (Note: PG carries flavour better than VG and adds to throat hit; VG carriers flavour less well, creates more vapour and is slightly sweet. So e-liquid mixes generally use a combination of the two.)

I am definitely not a cloud chaser I like a good flavour and throat hit. The juice I'm using is mostly 50/50 18mg but have a couple at 60/40 so that pretty much answers my question lol. Thank you for your advice Postmodern Smoking 😃

Tried my first mixing today....
Claire's Coconuts and a gingerbread (separately!)
Have given them a good shake and left them in the dark cupboard, lid off....
Two questions, please: 1) I used a 70/30 VG base but the mix I made looks much thinner than say a Rejuiced liquid. 2) Is there a recommended steeping time for CC? Do I need to shake everyday? Leave the lids on/off? (Sorry - more than two questions - ha ha ha!!!)
Thanks, as always.

On my mix's i recap after 24 hrs and never bother to reshake unless i remember and they seem fine mate. As for steeping times i can't help as never mixed them ones i do use gingerbread but with custard so mine takes 4 weeks min.

For Claire's the time from chefs is 4 weeks steeping, no idea about the gingerbread who makes it as they might have some info on their site.

If so it's likely thinner because PG is thinner than VG, and also the VG used may have been aqueous VG which is thinner than plain VG.

Hi Postmodernsmoking, I got the base from FSECIG.com. It does say 6mg nicotine and 70%VG on the bottle which is what I ordered but it seems very thin

It does say 6mg nicotine and 70%VG on the bottle which is what I ordered but it seems very thin That sounds like they've used Aqueous VG in production then. (It makes handling and wicking easier, but if you prefer it more viscous.... you might have to either try another supplier or take the next step and dilute 72mg/ml nic with PG, plain VG and flavourings to make your eliquid).

Sorry for another daft question.... If I bought 70vg pre-mixed base liquid and then used, say, 20% flavouring, am I watering down the VG content further? Should I go for 100% VG before adding the flavouring? Confused again

Your flavouring will more than likely be PG based (most are), so yes you're reducing the VG component ghostrider1971If you started with 100% VG base and added 20% flavouring, you would end up with an 20PG/80VG e-liquid.

Oh sausages! So I've added 20% flavouring to my 70VG 6mg pre-mix and have ended up with a 50/50 :-( I knew I should have stuck to buying Rejuiced

I never went near the lower volume stuff, headed straight to 72mg and bought VG and PG + flavouring I did have a few moments of confusion but got the idea and have not looked back, and the thing is once you have done it a few times you start to remember the quantity for each, I still use the calc just to be sure.

Correct, you've ended up with 4.8mg/ml 50PG/50VG ghostrider1971Adding anything dilutes and changes PG/VG ratios. ---------------------------- The most versatile (i.e. able to achieve what you want, strength and PG/VG ratio and flavour wise) is if you start with a 72mg/ml nic base. With a 72mg/ml VG nicbase to achieve a 6mg/ml 30PG/70VG 20% flavour eliquid = 0.8ml 72mg/ml VG nicbase, 1ml PG, 6.2ml VG and 2ml flavour (per 10ml eliquid) With a 72mg/ml VG nicbase to achieve a 6mg/ml 20PG/80VG 20% flavour eliquid = 0.8ml 72mg/ml VG nicbase, 0ml PG, 7.2ml VG and 2ml flavour (per 10ml eliquid)
