Cheers Jon. I'll give it a go over the weekend. don't use any old usb cable that's about the cheap ones are not fully wired I have fallen for this a few times Taylor I found out the hard way with the sig 75 single 18650 batts don't last long at 60 watts plus they will run a 0.5 coil v well but as you get lower so do the run time the Hcigar Dna 75 nano looks bang on for out and about lower power social vapeing ie not filling the room in one go lol the hotcig dna200 is small and comes with a quick release lipo and spairs can be purchased just don't ever use the charger that comes with it(tis fugly mind) what about asking one of the mod makers on here to make you a dna 200 with easily removable lipo batt with extention leads from the board so your not constantly putting the board joints under strain the main prob is only 2 years ago 100 watts was seen as pointless and now with some tanks its useless I have few gizmo,s that I tend to use with mtl tanks for nic replacement and I just love mechs this is true vaping I also have an rx 200 tc aint the best on it(or I still cant get it right lol)but this thing powers all my silly tanks and drippers v well and about the most ive run it at is 150 on the vcmt THIS IS USED TO ANOY THE SMOKERS AT WORK IN SOMKEING SHELTER NOT NIC REPACEMENT but boy its it fun I do soooo want the dna 75 nano just to give tc one last chance oh and it do look sexy as heck(would be used with kayfun type tank)

Two laptops, a desktop, three different data transfer cables and this is what I get with the lot. Can't even get it to connect to Escribe. Thats not an incorrect version message, I'd tentatively say it looks like there is an issue with the USB socket on the mod. Have you contacted the vendor? I'd kick up for an RMA or warraty replacement.

It's a @windows mod SteveF. He ran Escribe on it before sending it to me, so IDK what the issue is with it. To be perfectly honest, having nosed round Escribe I'm not really fussed about it. The mod works perfectly well in power mode with kanthal so I can live with that. But all this plugging your mod into a computer, change this setting, tweak that, adjust the other just isn't for me. I don't have the time really or the desire to try and fill my head with it all. For those that find it of interest that's fine, but it's just not my thing in the vaping world and for these reasons I probably won't purchase another Evolv DNA mod.

I'd definitely get the V1.2 SP3 update of scribe installed and see if it connects, if it doesn't well it has to be a fault.
I don't mess about with mine.....much. And I do mean not much, once you get it set as you like its all very nerdy and boring.
with the DNA200 board I take full advantage of the battery reserves for 50-60w vaping in power mode which the bigger mods are in most of the time. I set up the preheat for a couple of different titanium coils and now for stainless which really is very good now but otherwise it's set and forget. The new update has me flummoxed but thats because some of the mod settings have changed. I'm not entirely happy with the new firmware and besides the initial set up I haven't spent this much time rsing about with Escribe since I got them last year..

The pre heat may have been about the only thing I would really have been interested in to combat the ramp up time, but I'll have a little more time over the weekend to try what VapingBad has suggested. At the end of the day the problem could be pretty much my own fault due in a large part to me not understanding it all and not taking the time to research it, but I just find all this is pretty much faff that I can do without.

It's not your fault it should install with not issues and normally does, as you say the preheat or temp dominant mode are the only important thing you have to use Escribe to change with the 75 unless you need to add a different wire. With the Evolv default profiles for the 75 P 7 Relaxed the preheat is only 40 W and P 8 has it turned off. You can change wire type on the device by locking and holding all 3 buttons down.
