Well... we go home tomorrow.
Had an amazing time over here and will definately come back again. Kids and adults both!
The weather has been absolutely stunning for us and that we are so grateful for. All of us tanned like we been away to spain for a week lol.
I take back what i said about the roads...have travelled around the island completley now and for every good smooth road, there 4 horredous pot holed, repair on a repair roads! However what i wpuld absolutley love to do is have the roads all closed off and do an isle of man type race around the island...some fantastic winding hilly roads etc
The island is noticeably well kept and clean. Even the houses and gardens are kept nice and tidy.
The native people dont appear to be the friendliest from what have experienced. Especially road manners...have let so many people pass by or let someone out of junctions etc and NOT ONE person ALL WEEK has put hand up to say thanks lol they just drive straight by!. It become a personal mission to be as courtious as possible to try and get just one thanks...mission failed so far.
Plenty of things to do on the island..my personal favourite was ryde and their beach. Have never seen a tide go out so far in all my life. Took us half an hour to walk from start of beach to the sea! All nice sand too.
The island has been taken over by the mods n rockers for the weekend. Have never seen so many vespa's and lambretta's. Literally hundreds of them buzzing around around the island!
Any enough rambling from me. Just a heads up if anyones considered going to isle wight..your have a great time.
Bish
So glad you enjoyed your stay on my Island.
There are two Vaping shops in Ryde up in the town. One has been mentioned, but there is another small shop near enough next door to Poundland. This little shop was the first one on the scene, until the other shop opened up perhaps a couple of years ago, and thought I would give them a try.
However I was not impressed with them, and won't go back.
Why ?
First visit matey sold me some cheapo battery for £8 (I think), and being in a hurry when I got home I found it to be a cheapo rubbish battery unsuitable for any of my battery mods, and disposed of it. It could just about power a clock I suppose.
Second, they had 3 x 10ml bottles for £12, and I bought 3 x the same flavour and shoved them into my pocket.
Again when I got home I found one of them was some awful flavour made out of Lavender or something.
I took it back - of course it was opened - and whinged a bit, so I ended up paying £3 I think for a 10ml bottle of the flavour I wanted.
I wasn't going to give them a 3rd try.
The other shop 'Clear Vape' (or something was there first), and where I started vaping, are very good, so when not buying from the internet, I pop in there and spend more time having a good natter with the owner, and others in the shop.......hard to see anyone sometimes with all the vapour clouds.
As for our roads, well the Council is making a pretty good job of re-doing the roads, not just a quick topping, so many of the main and inland roads are now pretty smooth to drive on.
There are of course still some horrors yet to be done, and having just bought myself a Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDi VRS, which has low profile tyres and stiffer suspension (to my previous VW Passat 1.9 TDi,) I can end up with quite a few broken bones after travelling on them...
As for the people here, then you must have come across those that have moved over here from England...
as generally we are a friendly bunch.
But you are right about people not acknowledging you when you let them out of a junction, or along a crowded road of parked cars, even if you have right of way, because many times I just shout '"Thank you !" as they go by, with their noses in the air.
But I guess there are just as many ignorant drivers where ever you go.
I too buy from Island Custards, but have not yet visited their shop, and must do next time I go to Ventnor.
Right, enough rambling from me.....
