My wee dug Coll is standing on top of his "perch" wondering if just one huge leap would get him right into the new swimming pool that has appeared overnight? Either that or he is a little confused about the amount of Pee that he had during his morning piddle in the garden.

What's with all the orange toilet seats? That is the charcoal and red rose pattern that will eventually become the design in yon circular bit that is, at present, Coll's swimming pool.

After a frustrating few months of really cold weather and constant rain, at last I made a start on the garden and spent the day building 4 Obelisks.
With 3 up and climbing roses under them, the area looks more like the floor of a Masonic Lodge than a garden.
Once I get the forth Obelisk up tomorrow, I hope to make a start on the paved central area, now that the temperature is above freezing.

Looking forward to some pictures, lobeydosser! I'm afraid that my garden will have to wait for a couple of weeks until it is less like a sponge and more like soil. I'm also in the middle of preparing the kitchen for the imminent arrival of a new central heating boiler and ultimately a new kitchen!

Most of the work I am doing at the moment is just proprietary to stuff that follows. Nothing to see really but it has to be done before I can carry on with the more "photogenic" stuff.
I have ordered some fruit shrubs and some flowers. The fruits for the raised beds and the flowers, all scented, for the central bit.

Still under construction but I have now ran out of sand and cement, so I'm off to the builder's yard first thing tomorrow.

looking good. Getting there but once again, rain has stopped play.
That's 11 slabs down and only another 18 slabs to go. Then a fence around them, then soil and compost to fill it all up, then a couple of weeks ordering up bedding plants and then, finally it will be finished and I can start Stage Three!!!!
Or, I can get Ground Force in and they can do it in 2 days!
I wish.

Phase 3 is when I rip up half the decking to install a railing between the edge of the deck and the footpath along the side of it. Hopefully it will stop the drunks falling off the deck.
Then comes Phase 4. The Front Garden which will involve ripping out 5 Leylandii Trees and a 6 foot high Hedge and making up 4 lengths of fence. I'm expecting Phase 4 to take a couple of years.
Spending the savings I have made from Vaping instead of them going up in cigarette smoke is dammed hard work!!!!!

I'm not sure what "stage" I am now at with the garden, but since my Stroke I had a whole year where I did not do a thing either in the garden or in the house. Any physical effort was a no no and I would just sit for hours doing nothing. Anyways, over the last few months I have started doing a bit, albeit somewhat slowly, but each little bit soon adds up and I have just completed planting out about 380 bedding, container and hanging basket plants which the garden a prettier place to be. It was all very well sitting in the middle of a building site for a year, but a bit of colour and fragrant scent does wonders for my well being.
