I've went round the block with TC Christ knows how many times and still never got it to work. Like phtumshk , I thought I had it sussed on a few occasions only for it to bite me on the arse. I had good intentions of getting a lesson in TC from VapingBad at Vapefest but whisky and cider got in the way. I came to the conclusion that trying to get TC to work was only a waste of good vaping time, so I've kicked it into touch. Back on good old 0.5mm kanthal for dual coil tanks with the occasional Clapton for the single coil brigade. Nothing fancy and a bit boring, but at the end of the day, it just works for me.

Edit : Like jtc, my post is probably no help whatsoever. But should you get to the point where you decide your never gonna get it to work, you're in good company.

I tried every ss wire I could get and numerous tanks and with DNA's and as striker42 found. Just when you think 'eureka' it goes haywire (haywire lol). And yes it burns hot and I found with volatile juice like banana that it scorched it.
Nah kanthal imo is best

Haywire and fence wire are two that I've not tried jtc ........................maybe I'll try...........................................on second thoughts, I won't bother. I've wasted enough of my life on all the rest without wasting any more. Kanthal it is then.

I use TC on my DNA devices most of the time. The main pointers i have found i only use Stealthvape SS316L wire (tried UD had nothing but trouble), i always space the coils. 7-8 wraps of 26awg and it comes out around .33 ohm with a dual set up (currently on a Aromamizer Supreme) set at 410F and power at 42W

Occasionally i do find i will build a coil and it just wont play the game, i just rip it out and start again, always cures it lol

The main reason i have stuck with TC is it's brilliant when used on a regulated squonker, (or dripping for that matter) you can actually see the last hit temp rising after each toke and therefore know when to give the wee bottle another squeeze, or drip more liquid.

think i got to that point where im giving up already

for some reason it started working then took a toke after a charge and just got fire going down my throat.

seems to me tc is like russian roulette.

i was using on a everest sub ohm tank vertical coil 5 coils wrapped around 4mm screwdriver.

Saying that I had much better results in tc with NI200 and nife but I didn't like the wires

Have you tried using a screw to wrap your coil around, I use a m3 bolt/screw and it works great nice neat spaced coils

no thats a really good idea though i ll try that next time

but the coil isnt the problem, its vaping great... then i take a really lug the its all burned and firey tasting. its either the wicking or the mod itself i think.

few reviewers on youtube said they had same issue with the cortex . ill try nickel next time maybe thats less volatile.
