Never thought I'd be looking for a tobacco vape but I have a little mission to do. The father in law is enjoying vaping but only wants tobacco flavour. I don't touch it myself so I don't know what to make him. Can anybody point me towards a really realistic tobacco concentrate please? He used to smoke rothmans if that helps

I used to smoke Nelson, then Kensitas and finally Mayfair.
Having tried 20 odd different tobacco concentrates I finally found Royal. It is sold by FA and is a smooth flavour.
I have been using it for 4 years now and luv it.
In the first few sooks it tastes of Caramel and Liquorice, but within a few minutes it takes on that smooth tobacco flavour.

Thanks for the input lobeydosser, at what percentage do you recommend? I'll start the list with that one. Four years is a good testament. Anyone else please as I think I'll make a few small testers

Any of Bestcigliquid tobacco concentrates mixed at 15% are very realistic tobacco vapes but really only suitable to rta's or rda's as they are coil gunkers and need regular rewicking.

Tobaccos are the trickiest vape to get right. I've been looking for a good one since I started vaping. They are often too sweet.
BestCigLiquid are great. I regularly vape Sultan, Cohibia, Londoner and Kenty. I found the ones designed to taste like roll ups had a vegetal/banana skin kind of flavour to them...
I'd get a sense of what he likes first. Go and buy all the tobaccos from One Pound Liquid, I used American Lights for ages. Then come back to this thread when you know which direction you need to go in...
[Edit]
I should also add that OKSmokey liquids are remarkably realistic. Really dry/smokey/ashtray like. They really helped me in the beginning. There's a certain something about them that I'm still trying to capture in my DIYs - just ordered some Absolutes and DNB (dirty neutral base) to see if that's what it was...
A lot of people will talk about Manabush/House of Liquid being the zenith of tobaccos - and Dripworx should probably be in there too - but those are very sweet almost bakery style tobaccos.

Thanks for the input lobeydosser , at what percentage do you recommend? I'll start the list with that one. Four years is a good testament. Anyone else please as I think I'll make a few small testers I started vaping Royal at 70/30 mix @ 24mg. I normally use a 20w I-stick and vape it at a starting watt of 4.7w. This gradually increases to around the 10w as the coil gets to the end of its life. My 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coils average around the 10 to 14 days life.
After a year I went to a 50/50 mix which I used for another two years, but the coils performance dropped by a few days.
I am now on a 25/75 mix and am very content with that.
I have always been on the 24mg and have no intention of changing from that.
I vape about 3.5ml a day.
After taste, battery and tank life are thee most important issue and using the set up I have, I get 22 hours on a full charge and as I am using a 5ml tank (Aspire Nautilus) I always have juice left over.
I have tried other e-cigs and mods, but only the 20w I-stick gives me the performance and battery life I desire.

Yes I'm thinking of a 70/30 mix as I'm concerned his pen won't wick it otherwise. Only tobacco I had was RY4 for my first year of vaping and I loved it,but he doesn't want anything sweet. He's vaping stuff from pound land so I'm sure I can make him something better

jtc I would also say get a few pre-mades from OnePound Liquid for him to try first, I was on their Black Tobacco for ages with my morning coffee, never thought I'd like it but vaped so much of it that I now can't touch it, actually makes me barf just smelling it now Also had their Virginia and that wasn't bad either to my tastes. It would give him and you an idea of what he fancies and then go from there, cant go wrong for £1 a bottle.

I get what use are saying but he's been vaping pound shop Eliquid for a year. The direction won't change. He wants to stay with his pen and an authentic tobacco taste like a cigarette. I would just like to be able to find an authentic concentrate and make it for him, maybe cheaper and nicer

Means I just dump the whole bottle in a 100ml bottle. Add nic, PG to taste, then top up to the neck with VG. Try Sultan and Cohibia - less sweet than the others, more tobacco to taste in there... One I found recently is Kreeds Baccy from Chefs flavours. Not a pure tobacco, has bourbon and a nut element, but really addictive! This was from a Facebook group called Vaping Home Mixers. Worth sniffing around there. There's a few discount codes too. John Smith's tobaccos get a few good mentions too

I was just reading that somebody vapes just nic, pg and vg and it's the closest thing he's found to smoking. Hmmm strange I'd be one who says that. And, maybe, it is strange. *shrug* But it does work for me. When smoking, after those decades of killing my taste buds, I certainly wasn't tasting any sort of tobacco. Smelling the stuff before lighting up, sure, but not when actually burning the stuff. It seems to me that many vape tobacco flavours do well reproducing the smell/aroma of the tobacco in the packet - especially some of the very aromatic rolly/pouch variants. But that's not what I tasted when I smoked. I find unflavoured, especially when mindlessly vaping whilst doing other things (like messing around in the shed) to be a very suitable substitute for the smokes I use to mindlessly consumed doing those same tasks. I'd suggest making up a small test batch and put it to the test. You never know! And, bonus points: it's cheap and ya coils/wicks last well too. Extra idea - add just the slightest hint of just a trace of menthol to that unflavoured mix. (I mean, go really, really, really light with it). That too, works well for me. Yeah, I know, somewhat unusual, especially around these parts (Hi Perpetua! *wave*) - but there are some of us around who do vape unflavoured at least periodically. I always have one tank of unflavoured in my regular daily rotation.
