Yeah, I know, somewhat unusual, especially around these parts (Hi Perpetua ! *wave*) - but there are some of us around who do vape unflavoured at least periodically. I always have one tank of unflavoured in my regular daily rotation. Whatever does for you as an individual and keeps the desire to spark up away I say DaveJ . . . . There's no right or wrong in what we do - just what works.

Nice one DaveJ I think I'll start with no flavour for him then because if that works it will be the cheapest way. He uses 16mg so it will probably taste like a good dirty ashtray anyway. As Perpetua says, if it works then it's good

As Perpetua says, if it works then it's good Exactly as Perpetua says - if it works it's good! Of course, everybody's different. But it may well be worth a go for your new convert. I remember when I first swapped from cigarettes. I didn't listen to all those who had gone before. I insisted I needed something that tasted like the smokes I was giving up. So I started with tobacco flavours that were, to me, absolutely hideous (and glugged up coils terribly). Finally, in frustration, I listened to those who had previously tried to tell me "no - you really do not want a cigarette tasting vape". Remember too - at that stage tastes are likely messed up and prolly will change/recover soon after their big change. Likely your new vaper friend may well experience similar. So, what they first like in a vape flavour is likely to change and perhaps quite quickly. I suggest, for any potential person switching, having 2 or 3 very different flavours available (maybe including unflavoured) to give them a choice of what they prefer, and, perhaps a sample of the flavour possibilities now open to them. Oh - and easy to understand/use/maintain reliable gear - at least to start with. Well, that's my opinion anyway Whatever way you go, good luck to you helping out your friend.

As Perpetua says, if it works then it's good I've been experimenting with DIY tobacco extraction. As I tasted samples I was surprised how much flavour there was in just Nic, PG, VG - I could happily vape 9mg, 60/40

In several of the above posts PG to VG ratios have been mentioned. Which figure comes first, PG or VG?

Hangsen 'Red USA Mix' (meant to mimic Marlboro Reds) would suit I reckon; esp. considering the hardware that's being used....I still buy the occasional bottle (pre-mix). Could n't agree more with what DaveJ said re. the smell of 'baccy & the 'non-taste' of it once combusted! I had a roll up a coupla months ago (..I know, I KNOW!! on-line confession!!)...thinking that it was gonna blow My head off after c.2yrs without.....but no!...NO taste & NO throat hit!!?! Old Holborn as well!! I've never tried vaping un-flavoured but imagine that it could replicate smoking quite well... Another suggestion then:- add 3% Inawera 'Dirty Neutral Base' to the PG/VG/Nic base?..

Unflavoured has been my all day vape for the last few months. Go on knock up a batch it might be the best sub 20p e-liquid you have ever tasted.

Breathing in smoke (cigarettes) and breathing in vapour (vaping) is 2 different things. Couple that to the fact that cigarettes contain something like 2,500 different chemicals and add that to the fact that if you burn some of these rather than just heat them up and vaporise them, you create a unique environment that is impossible to replicate by any other means.
So, you will never find an e-juice that exactly replicates the taste etc of smoking a cigarette and therefore compromises are inevitable.
The tobacco e-juice that I use is "near enough" for me and the closest I have come to the ciggies I used to smoke. Okay, it is not there completely on taste, but it is smooth, fairly mellow, cheap and healthier than smoking and I can't say fairer than that.
