taken the mod apart and now it seems one of what looks like the sodding heatsinks has fallen off

sooo were can I get a dna 200 chip or is the 250 a strait swap

StealthVape, yes a 250 is a straight swap, but there is a good chance Evolv will swap the board under warranty for the cost of posting it to them, takes a bout a week each way and a day or two to process helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add&category=1

tbh I don't know the history of the mod as its second hand
so ill just swap the chip myself and only buy secondhand tanks from now on
lesson learned

this mod is using the board mounting screws to earth the board but I think they keep working there way loose do I need small shake proof washers or will a bit of lock tight be ok, or shoud I just run a connection to the mod case from the main earth point on board

Out of interest what mod is it decoy?

All those should work, not tried loctite, but you have nothing to loose and can add a ground later wire if needed, 510 ground ring would be best if it has one. Remember to bend the wires before soldering as thy can wick up solder, get stiff, then you bend them and lift the solder pad, more heat and less time, tin pad and wire and try to just do quick reflow when connecting them.

its well made but not one of the normal run of the mill
would rather not say as it was sold in good faith I think so its not the sellers fault
I haven't had much luck lately with kit(lost a 2 week old dna 75 on a night out so got this lol)
at least ill end up with a mod ive modded myself
just gota find some penny's

cheers chap ill be de soldering the old wires and reusing them so should be simple I hope
may as well go for the 250 as its only £3 more and its supposed to be better at ss tc anyhows
will prob have to wait till after xmas unless the sofa pays out

just noticed the white balance plug thingy isn't soldered on on the new boards
ive got a gas powered soldering iron and going to purchase some decent tinned solder
do I need solder sucker or anything elce
any help or tips to make this easy is mucho appreciated

A decent tip cleaner, I like the dry copper or brass metal ones like these www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/soldering-iron-tip-cleaner and maybe some helping hands. If you have the cash a solder sucker is deffo worth having, but not vital.

To be honest i'm not a big fan of the gas soldering irons especially around circuit boards, too aggressive.
If your going to be doing much soldering i would recommend a solder station that allows you to control the temperature.
I will often use a damp sponge for cleaning the solder tips and yes a third hand is very useful.

the board is not identical
I had to trim down the screen holder legs to get it to fit with out bending the board
used the old screen so now have a spare
will prob end up putting an earth to the bod body to help elevate the grounding prob with the screws

wee update the 2 amp charging is awesome
the batt pack did get a little warm, not hot but warm
this works more like my lost dna 75 ie it just works in tc unless I do something stupid
cant work out the 510 on the mod so going to have to leave it as is at moe but do want to fit one with a stiffer spring
