For me personally as a cool fire iv owner its gotta be 100% watts if only for the ramp up in power on watts is much more safer, for me, than when i 1st got it had it set to Volts ramped the power up burnt a coil out and almost put me off using it like Postmodern Smoking and lobeydosser said those are good numbers to start with. Just remember if set to Watts the increases are a lot smaller than Volt settings so there is less chance of ramping the setting too high the watts settings go up in 0.1 0.5W settings. p.s. dont forget in case you dont know that you can vape while charging, if battery 100% dead give it 1 min charge remove charger turn machine on plug charger back in and you can use while charging(means a longer charge but ...). Also have tried this on my tv plugged into the usb port to charge and that works fine also(using the charging lead that came with it) Good Luck yozza

In my old Provari days, I was constantly looking up charts to figure out what volts I should be using to get the wattage I wanted. Then VV/VW came along and although yon chart is still on the shed wall (I think) I haven't looked at it since. Watts are just so much simpler.

As VapingBad has already stated, for newer vapers it is easier to work in wattage IMO. Most of my devices are VW but I've got a Jimmy Jack box mod that is VV. Although I'm a fairly experienced vaper, I still prefer VW as I can fine tune my vape better. And as all experienced vapers know, it can be a fine line between a satisfying vape and a dry/burnt hit.

Just like ones preferred wattage, I also have the one type of Mod (Eleaf I-stick 20W) and one type of Tank (Aspire Nautilus 5ml). I have 4 I-sticks on the go at any one time. One on a lanyard around my neck, one on the bedside table, one in the shed and one on charge (just in case). All have the Nautilus tanks on them and all have different flavours in them. Also all are set to my preferred wattage. While I do understand the need that some folks have to keep experimenting with different settings and flavours, I prefer to keep my vaping as simple as possible, to the extent that vaping has ceased to be a hobby as such, but just something I do. Whether I am in bed, in the shed or in the garden, I know where I am by the flavour I'm using!!!!

Thanks guys for all the help and advice. Have been messing around with my settings and have found that 13.5 watts suits me fine for both taste and vapour. My Coolfire only increases in 0.5 increments.
Also the main eliquids I tend to use are Latte Coffee Columbia, and also Crème Caramel.

I can get up to a month on RY4 in kanger PT-2/PT-3/Aerotanks It depends so much on the way you vape (I'm around 8-9W and 80% PG juice) and the actual composition of the flavouring (and % of) in the juice...
