Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help? I built a Floris squonker, all seems ok, but for some reason there is a slight sparking going on when the button is pressed just before making connection with the FDV V4 pin.
It's the first time building a mech box, so just wanted to ask if anyone knows why its doing that and what the cause may be. Obviously safety is a priority so has me a bit worried, and slightly confused about how to resolve the issue.
Thanks for any help or advise anyone could give.

decoy its just a delrin button, no mosfet in the mod. from the look of that sparks are gona be the norm if you press the button slowly its just the lectickery jumping across the gap when it get small nuff(the quicker you press the button the less it will happen) so it should be ok to use as long as you not doing silly low ohms it defo should not resemble a sparkler mind lol never mind

decoy Thanks for the help, its actually still sparking, I thought it was fixed, but no joy....may have to play with the point of contact on the copper section a bit more, maybe round it off a bit. But I think like you say its just the transferring of the energy from the copper contact to the pin.......It doesn't happen on any of my bought mech squonkers though? :/haha, Its not quite sparkler level, but definitely noticeable. I am hoping this is normal, but if it isn't and I should change something or stop using it please somebody chime in asap and let me know!!

It's perfectly norm. As said above its the current jump between the contacts. Nothing to worry about

Arcing would suggest a poor/dirty contact somewhere at the 510 if that is where its arcing. If continued to use the contact points will burn/go black and fail to work at all.

I'll try giving the contacts a clean up and see if it improves things.
