No wonder so many Barbers are going to the wall with all you cheapskates doing DIY Haircuts. Twice a year ain't going to have them retiring early though. I hated the bit when they tucked the waterproof thing down your neck. So I've had what used to be known as a suedehead for decades. DIY all the way. I would be interested to know which clippers you all use as mine are due replacing. The ones I have are not made any more.

I would be interested to know which clippers you all use as mine are due replacing. The ones I have are not made any more. I use these www.tesco.com/direct/braun-cruzer-5-hair-clipper/229-4090.prd?skuId=229-4090&pageLevel=sku&sc_cmp=ppc_sh-_-sh-_-bg-_-229-4090&gclid=CN3Q-8D76dECFcS37QodXLMLng&gclsrc=aw.dsThey're cordless so i don't have to be near a plug or use an extension cord like i did with my old plug in the wall type ones, the comb part just slides to change the cutting length so you don't have to worry about changing heads and they're waterproof too which is a plus for cleaning. When you're done cutting the blade part just pulls down so you can rinse away any clippings that get behind the blade under the tap. The blade's nice and sharp too i don't get any snagging.

I could go and get mine cut every six weeks and certainly shouldn't let it get past eight or so, but I often leave it a lot longer and end up going to get it cut when I need to look smart(ish) for something.
£8 with every 6th cut free doesn't break the bank and I've never had to wait more than ten minutes at the barbers I use, but it's a pain in the backside getting it done and I miss out on a few hours in bed whenever I have to.

Since this thread started and after reading about all you guys that use clippers on a DIY basis, I dug out me old beard trimmer and took about 3 inches off the beard. Not quite down to the skin but not a kick in the shirt off it, I waited for a reaction from my nearest and dearest.
NOWT.
Neither my wife not my brother noticed anything different and I have had no comments at all from friends and neighbours.
Oh well, back to just grooming the dog. At least everyone notices when he gets a haircut!!!
