unclegromit Agree with everything You posted above. But My point in the OP was that all of the BCL liquids that I've tried, (& forgot about 'Red USA' which is the same..) have got that same underlying base note to the taste....& it ain't the taste of Red Virginia tobacco! HoL's 'Virginia Prime' tastes pretty much the same as a home-brew NET of R/Virg. ergo, it must be authentic. I could do a 'blind' taste test of all HoL juices & prob. most of My diy steeps....ie. they don't have that same-y base to 'em. Swapping 'twixt BCL's 'Old Holborn' & 'Sultan'....I could n't tell You which was which... should n't be the case for versions of 'NETs' that purport to be a Virginia/Kentucky blend (O/H) & an Oriental/Burley (Sultan)..... & No....I don't wanna bring in the taste of cotton into the equation as well!!! (+ all the re-wicking & prob. increasing of flavour % too.....) Again I can only speak as I find. There is a well worn phrase in the vaping world about taste is subjective. Or put another way, we may get something different from the same juice. I am by no means a tobacco connoisseur nor do I have top notch taste buds but c'mon!! Sorry, I simply can not agree that they have the same base taste. You mention OH and Sultan from BCL. You couldn't have picked 2 tobaccos so different. When you opened up a pack of OH what you saw was a bright leaf Virginia, just like any other. But what separated OH from the rest was the dark leaf also running through the mix. That dark leaf is almost certainly South American, but not a Cuban. I used to get it from other NET juice makers I have tried in the past. It lacks sweetness. And makes for a dry vape. It's also what gives it that tangy/fruity note. I smoked OH for too many years. I know the taste. As others have posted, BCL OH is so damn close to that. Couldn't agree more. Sultan is an all together different animal. It's a Turkish tobacco or more precisely a Turkish cured tobacco, usually a dark leaf Virginia. What this produces is a much deeper, richer, sweet tobacco. So much so that I can taste a chocolate/cocoa element. It's also a more rounded experience. That's a direct result of the Turkish style of curing. Could I do a blind taste test of these 2. Absolutely. I could also do it with quite a few of the others I have. Londoner, Black Mamba, Perique and Tawny Dawn to name a few.

I took delivery of 5 BCL tobacco flavours recently, this after really enjoying my first order of Blackfire and Gold and Silver, both of which were sufficiently strong enough to only require 3% flavour and a minimum week or so's steep. Of the 5 new ones I am a bit disappointed with Londoner, Cohibia & Tobacco Red, all different taste but not much flavour, nondescript, require excessive percentage (in my view) of around 12-15%, not good economically and not good because NETs gunk (my) coils up very quickly. Londoner is especially disappointing, I don't find anything Cigarillo / small cigar in there at all. The real stars are Black Mamba and Tobacco Black, at a reasonable 8% these really deliver, the Black Mamba on it's on and the Tobacco Black on it's own or in a blend.
On the subject of tasting the same, I would go with Mom and Pop tobacco flavours, some don't even taste like a tobacco, notably Deja Vu and Bud's Ordnance Bomb, nice but more like desserts and the Deja Vu exhale smell likes urine.
FA Royal, likable but for me it's got a menthol kick, reminiscent of Consulate fags, just a bit less of the menthol, not what I like in my baccy vapes, adding in Inawera dark tobacco base makes for a better vape.

unclegromit Ace post M8! I have to eat humble pie here......I'd gone & mixed Me labels up!.... .wot I thought was 'Sultan' was actually My 'mix down' of 3x Triphammer 24mg. juices down to 6mg.! This DOES have the same base taste as BCL's OH/Best Cigar/Londoner/US Red etc. The Sultan tastes different! I still don't get an 'oriental' 'baccy taste from it..........but I like it! Will have to agree to disagree re. the 'Old Holborn' tho'......smoked it for >30yrs. & I can't get any taste of it from the BCL version......steeping the 'real thing' tho'......Lovely!!! andi53 Black Mamba!!! the pre-mix of this was a major player in Me quitting the roll- ups! Yeah, Mom & Pop's don't cut it.....have some 'Tobacco Dolce' here that I got when I still took advice!......a PIF if ever there was one! Ditto the F'Art arti-baccies.... How would You describe the taste of BCL 'Black Fire'?...May be My next order......

How would You describe the taste of BCL 'Black Fire'?...May be My next order...... Sweet caramel blackfire, full bodied, glossy, not flat, like FA blackfire can be (in a mix). BCL are out of stock on all Nets, bit of a bummer that.
