Lurker saying hello and thanks

To everyone who's responded - thank you so much!  All the hints and tips, well, I'm already doing a lot of them and will put them all into practice.  I'm even more determined now, after all your encouragement, to Beat the Baccy!

It's all the 'well done' and 'you're doing great' and 'keep it up you'll get there' kind of stuff that means so much.  I don't have much support from people I know, not that they aren't pleased I'm giving up, just that they don't really understand the journey, so to speak.  My partner has never smoked so, much as he wants to be supportive he just has no idea what it's like so is fairly low-key about it all.  Most of my friends are non-smokers also.  2 of them smoke but they are the lucky ones, 'social smokers' who aren't addicted and who can smoke a few then not bother for days or weeks on end.  Oh, how I wish!  And I have 2 friends who are ex-smokers, whom I admire enormously because both did it the hard way (one cold turkey, took her 3 years before she stopped craving poor love, and the other who became addicted to the chewing gum and again, it took her a couple of years to get off it).  Neither of them have much truck with vaping and regard it as somehow cheating, or still-smoking-really-because-of-the-nicotine.  I haven't the energy to educate them.

As for my little forays up into the loft (which will get fewer and fewer until they cease, I promise me)... nobody in my real world knows about that.  Let's just say what happens in the loft stays in the loft, we don't talk about the loft.  Nuff said.  

Hey! I've just discovered that RY4 (came in the post today) squirted into an old carto that still had some 'classic virginia' remnants in it, tastes just like my roll ups. OMG I've found Nirvana!  Question: will I ever be able to replicate it?  Dunno.  Not today's problem.  Today I might actually be able to avoid going up to the loft...

Various RY4s are still my go to juices. Some find success with flavours that have nothing to do with smoking; we are all different and need different solutions. Great thing about vaping (or one of them) is that the options are endless.

Well done from me too! This is a good thing you do and your efforts now will pay big rewards down the track.

All here know what you are going thro and we all wish you well.

There will be times.... we all know what that is like when life throws it's little twists your way but just take each moment as it comes. Think of how many smokes you avoid not of any single smokes you fall to.

Yes I understand - I was pretty much the same as you when I made the big switch.

Lean on those here if you are not getting the support and understanding you need in real life. We'd understand the occasional frustrated rant... I'm sure many of us felt the same at one time or another. I know I did! I found great support reading of others who had already done and felt what I was going through.

Just one day at a time!

Pretty soon you'll have past the first couple of weeks and each successive day will be just that little easier. Soon enough you'll be looking back on that last smoke free month or two with considerable and well deserved pride.

As others have already said, vaping is a very personal experience. What works for me will prolly not feel right for you. Don't be scared to explore different e-juices or equipment to find something that might suit you better.

Tykess welcome on-board the friendliest, most helpful forum on the web Brilliant start for you in how well you've done, before you know it you'll be an expert juice-mixer and will have ditched those last couple of roll-ups
