Hiya, I'm just trying to work out if this is correct, my daughter vapes at about 10-11 watts on a 1.8 ohm coil (at present using beyond vape silo's with 1.8 ohm nautilus coil) so most mods on the market are massively overpowered for her needs. In my never ending search for cheap and tough mods I came across aspire cf sub mod, 2000 mah battery with output 4.2v, 40 A continuous discharge. from what I've read, it suggests above 0.3 ohms and up to 1 ohm ( 0.5 ohm giving out about 38 watts) But there's no reason or issue with using higher ohm coils, in fact in this case it's what I'm after, less output power. What I was trying to work out is will a 1.8 ohm coil give her around 11 watts equivalent (her sweet spot she obviously does fairy puffs!)

That's my understanding PeppertyIt was always a little strange - Aspire tended not to quote the exact full range of 'capability'. I remember looking at a few Aspire tube mods and drawing a blank. When it says 0.3ohm - 1.0ohm, what does it mean? - you can't use a 1.2ohm or 1.6ohm atomizer? A 1.6 would give around 11 watts on a fresh battery if it works. Also, it must drop volts as it goes along, surely? It could get wispy quite soon as the battery depletes.

To some degree its fixed output as its more of a protected mech? The wattage is where I wanted it to be. She uses vv batteries but never moves the settings about! It just seems sacrilege to hand her an MVP 3 pro (50 watts more than she'd ever use!)
I'm hoping it'll suffice as they were only £4.50!

Ah, I bought the last 3 in stock djs It was purely desperate measures since she's murdered her MVP by throwing it in her bag, smashing open a can of fizzy drink and rescuing all her student coursework but leaving MVP to drown in Irn Bru she's such a horror!

They came from Evaporate Mods (closing down) they also have pairs of VTC4's in case for £7.50 and if you sign up there's a 10% off code thats immediately emailed to you, there really isnt much left but its very cheap oddments? Another place with some odds and sods (mostly older coils) at bargain price is vaporized If the batteries arent good for daughter I'll bag some of their coils and stick my altlanis v2 on one!

Credit to VapingBad for that info from another thread.

I would think it would be fine Pepperty and just use ohms law to get the res you need to get 10-11 W Ohms of a given value of P (power in W) is V 2/P with a fullish battery 4 V (4 2 = the 16 unclegromit mentioned) 16/10 = 1.6 ohm with a low battery (3.2 V, 3.2 2 = 10.24 (forget the .24, the 10 unclegromit mentioned) 10/10 = 1 ohm

Thanks, so I was on the right train of thought to getting the right wattage with coils my daughter uses.
For the price I just wanted reserve vape equipment that'll do for her, as I really begrudge paying much as she wrecks everything!

I did spot them the other day joeten and it would have been perfect in the days she'd only entertain small gear but now she's morphed into us and wants a 'bloody big tank that holds loads of juice' and a battery that lasts so she's been on isubs and MVP's and coolfire 4's but now she's broken almost all the plastic tanks and isub airholes are a bit open, she's like me - enjoys a tight draw so I always stick on small bore driptips and the full sized silo's have a small airhole so shes thrilled with them I refuse to buy her a mod where 50 watts is wasted! the coolfires lasted reasonably OK, they have barely any paint left on them, plus front button bar is wobbling off one and the coolfire metal logos have fallen off.... she's so careless, but I'll keep her in gear to stop her going anywhere need fags again. Her favourite mod is the aspire esp, its only 30 watts and 1900 mah but she likes it - and of course I only bought one as a backup when they were priced at a tenner, if I'd known I'd have bagged a couple! After showing her the tube aspire cf sub she really liked the format and finish so I bought the three in stock. They will suffice for now and for back-up. They'll look good with the silo tanks on (if they survive) Both have rubber rings around the glass section and 3ml lasts her all day so she's only having to top up every other day. I'm sure she forgets to, and burns the flaming coils out but a few quid a month is worth the cost to keep her fag free and happily vaping Thanks for advice everyone, I can always rely on you lot to know the answer!
