Postmodern Smoking That's going to be a huge help. Some time when you're not too busy, maybe you can show me where I'm going wrong. Thanks to everyone for their much appreciated assistance. The problem may lie here: the standard mixing calculators require you to enter the amount that you want to make and the strength you want to achieve, rather than what you have done and specified that you want to use all the 125ml of premix base. I had to move away from the standard calculators to make the table that I posted above.

taz96 it's actually easier from scratch than trying to "reverse engineer" the solution....

I agree . . . . it is actually easier ( I think ) starting from scratch Taz, although as Dave Postmodern Smoking has said, you're not being a nuisance - no one who asks for guidance is. Coincidentally, I've Tony from the Common popping round at 7pm for a swift Mixology workshop as he can't get his head round the process of using a calculator either. So you're far from alone. Perhaps it's something that the combined forces of Dave ( online ) and striker42 ( at one of your meets ) could unravel for you?

Perpetua Thanks, that makes me feel a wee bit less useless.I hope Tony gets the hang of it quicker than me. Striker and Macmagoo are stars at fixing problems for me and Gill, but Striker mixes by drops..eeek. I'd get to 3 drops and lose count.

Yes, my mixing method is a bit unorthodox taz96. The other problem with pre mix is this : you start with 60vg 40pg ratio then add 30% flavouring, which in most cases will be pg based. Your initial ratio has just went belly up, as you have effectively added another 30% pg to it.

Perpetua Thanks, that makes me feel a wee bit less useless.I hope Tony gets the hang of it quicker than me. Our little workshop went really well Taz . . . . Tony's not long gone! Once he'd got the hang of the calculator ( Ejuicemeup ) knowing what figures he should be putting where, it all became much simpler, straightforward to him - so I got him to calculate/mix up 100ml of Red Astaire and Heisenberg with me just looking on. Currently he's paying £4 for 10ml of H'berg so he's tripped off a happy chappie tonight with his 200ml and a few supplies! And I showed him Fasttech . . . . . . . . he was rather smitten. but Striker mixes by drops..eeek. I'd get to 3 drops and lose count. I don't see that as a massive issue Taz, I still use drops for anything under 1ml . . . . it's having someone show you face to face which values belong where to get the right calculation that's helpful, most calculator's will give a drops and ml measurement, so you've the choice.
