boxmod stopped working so am using mechs until i get sorted.
im using 0.5ohm coil but have loads of 0.6 dc to use and wondered if i can use this with samsung 25r's?
or would the amps be above 20a? 1.2ohms is 3.5a so guessing i just times by 2?
cheers

Two 0.6 ohm coils in parallel will be 0.3 ohms, two in series would be 1.2 ohms

Doesn't matter how many coils, all that matters is the resistance of the build. 25r is inside the safe continuous rating down to 0.2ohm.

It's half the resistance of a single coil, so if you have a pair of 0.5 ohm coils the res will be 0.25 ohm or a pair of 0.6 ohm coils would be 0.3 ohm. Then it is the same as ever:
current = volts / resistance I = V/R
Max voltage of 4.2 V is never going to happen as the voltage will drop well below 4 V at these levels, so 4 V is a sensible figure:
I = 4/0.25 (pair of 0.5 ohm) = 16 A I = 4/0.30 (pair of 0.6 ohm) = 13.33 A

thanks for the input
but its a replaceable coil unit that fits in a tank. its marked dc 0.6 ohms (so must be 2 x 1.2ohms)
so is this safe on a mech?

Using amps = voltage / ohms (as VapingBad did above, but for a 0.6ohm coil) = 4 / 0.6 = 6.67A So, yes the 0.6 ohm coil should be fine with a 18650 - 25R battery, which I think is rated at 20A continuous

You probably know but if it's a hybrid mech mod I would be careful. If the tank takes stock coils I doubt it can be used on a hybrid.

Oh do you mean because the center pin doesn't stick out? Yes you haven't mentioned what tank your using but said it takes stock coils. Check it has an adjustable 510 pin and that's fine if it has. If it doesn't even though it's protruding like many tanks it will have a floating 510 pin and the battery may push it up when you screw onto the hybrid. Then you have the danger of a short and possible venting. Safe vaping kingofswords
