Hi all,
Have been looking at SMOK kits and just trying to decide what would be best. Not used SMOK before so i was hoping for some feedback on quality, performance etc.
Don't really need sub-ohm or anything. Just something where i can taste the liquid ok and can create decent clouds !
Any help appreciated.
Many thanks
Andy

All a matter of opinion. I have a Smok Osub 80w and the only fault I have with it is the ohm reading is not accurate but I just adjust the wattage to suit the vape I want so no big deal for me. The Brit beast tank is not that great IMO, having said that I don't really like any of the Smok tanks. marksixysix could be the man to give you a good lowdown on the Alien as he has one for everyday of the week. dalealan , IIRC has a g-priv and could help out with some info on that one. I'm sure there will be others along to offer an opinion and impart their experiences with Smok devices and tanks.

They used to be just about the worst.
Personally, I never gave them another chance.
What happens to them going forwards is altogether more difficult to assess. Once they've made 4, 6, 8 and 12 coil monster tanks that can only legally exist in 2ml, then the party trick of being stupendously silly is wasted.
If you want clouds, don't care about £3 coils (when I buy <100w coils for under £1) and can accept they still aren't the leaders in reliability, then you may as well get buying. Have some fun.
Fun is gonna get more tricky soon. Live for the moment. Love Vaping = Love Smok.

I never had any of the older SMOK mods due to a lot of bad reviews which put me off buying them. Was almost tempted with the H priv but again, there were better options for me at the time. Then the Alien came along and had to have one and never looked back after that and as striker42 says, I have 1 for every day of the week Was tempted with the Skyhook and the AL85 as they use the same board and should perform as good as the Alien but the Alien being able to take various tanks and dual battery in a good size is perfect for me. The SMOK tanks on the other hand give nice flavor and vapor but coils are not the cheapest, and I find they tend to leak a little here and there. Being able to vape at 200 odd watts as a bit of a gimmick for me and most won't need that kind of power but it was fun having a try. Baby beast is nice but 3ml tank means filling it all the time. AL85 is a pico in SMOK clothing so should be just as good if not better and think you will be happy with it

Personally I've never liked anything smok. I just find it all janky. The alien nearly got me but I hate them flippy battery doors and would never buy a mod with them

I don't have an AL85, well I will have as I bought one today I mainly use OBS engines these days which are 25mm and will also fit on the AL85 JTC I was concerned about the flippy battery door on the Alien and it's solid when closed. I have dropped one of my aliens onto concrete once and landed on the battery door and thought that was it, but still works as intended, just a little scar
