SMOK Alien AL85 Firmware Upgrade - HELP !

Hi,


Tried to update firmware and now screens gone all fuzzy and i dont know how to mend this. The battery was out and the button depressed during upgrade. It recorded a pass but as i say the screen is not displaying anything meaningful.

Any assistance appreciated.

EDIT : Just so not to put anyone off purchasing an Alien AL85 by reading this thread. These was nothing wrong with the unit - it was a silly user problem (me!) not downloading the correct firmware upgrade

There's a fair chance it's kaput. From reading round here and there, it seems upgrades cause more bother than they're worth.

There's a few folks in facebook groups have screwed their Alien mods with upgrades. Don't know anyone that managed to correct whatever went wrong.

Well that was a short introduction to a SMOK. Wont be buying another that's for sure.

All I can suggested is have another go at the update as your not going to make it any worse by the sounds of it or send it back as faulty / not fit for purpose.

What firmware upgrade did you use as I just checked on SMOK site and there doesn't appear to be a firmware upgrade for the AL85 mod.

I cant look back at my internet history as its been cleared and i deleted the download folder with the upgrade files so i cant answer this sorry. If i could re-set or download the factory firmware again i will but i cannot find it at the moment

That's the alien update firmware
Looks like your stuffed till smok release the AL85 firmware to their site.

You've attempted to install the wrong firmware, when you get the right firmware you need to make sure you fully delete all the data on the mod before reinstalling the correct one.
I hope it's released soon for you.

I began to realise that I had loaded the wrong firmware on when the download file name had no reference to AL85, just Alien, but in my rush to update I didnt spot this to my detrament !
