Got my Wire Zapper working

I tried using one of Mev's Wire Zappers a while ago.

When the 2 wires made contact there was a loud crack and a big spark. I'd jump and the wires didn't weld.

Found lots of posts on different forums about failed welds. A common experience was that beefing the Zapper up by adding another capacitor led to success.

Now I'm a technical numpty who doesn't even understand how electrickery works. BUT my next door neighbour is into electronics

He has added a 400v 150uf capacitor ( couldn't find the right symbol so a u will have to do ) and it works.

It wasn't the jumping wimp that was the problem it was the wimpy Zapper.

Now I have to replace  resistance coils with NR/R/NR coils in about 300 Nautilus BVCs.

Haha same problem, have azapper and never succeeded as I jump out my skin. I must have 50+ nautilus coils but I can't see me welding and rebuilding

I did look into welding when I was using the rebuildable cartos but had a shed load of premade wires to get through.
Come to think of it I still have a shed load of them lol.

I'm like a kid with a new toy.

I give recoiled coil heads to some of the vapers I make juice for so now when they come round to collect juice they have to bring ALL their coils to be recoiled. 50 down and about 250 to go.

It's easier to make the coil, cut the legs off and weld the NR wire to the coil.

When I've done them all I think I'll have to start kidnapping random vapers off the street to get my fix.

I admire your enthusiasm, I always put off coiling, I'm quite slovenly if teh truth be told

I suppose when I'm desperate I'll crack through this lot!
