Evening vapers!
Everyone keeps saying I need to venture into RDA. It does look interesting.
I'd want a regulated mod and the safest possible can't go wrong device. I'd want to research it thoroughly and know what I was doing - but not sure where to start.....
Any suggestions?

I think that the mods you've listed as having before, are regulated. So it's just an RDA that goes on top that you need. I'll leave it to others more up on their hardware to make suggestions.

So is it just the top part I need?

The other question, can you build your own coils? Something you need to be able to do with dripper Or at the very least, buy coils and add wick to them

Haha The/a mod is the power source, usually (almost always) with a "510" female connector on top. This connects to either a tank atomiser or dripping atomiser which has a male 510 connector. An RDA could be used on your Smok R200 or Coolfire IV. With high power mods (with replaceable batteries), it is important to buy high power batteries to ensure safety.... from trusted suppliers.

Wotofo Sapor www.dnavapes.com/collections/rebuildable-drippers/products/sapor-rda-by-wotofo?variant=17558971974Can't go wrong for a tenner. Build video, don't worry too much about the making the coils bit you can buy ready made coils to install. Thing to remember it's a dual coil atomiser so your final resistance when you've installed both coils will be half of what one coil is. For example if you buy coils that are rated at 0.8ohms and install two of them the resistance of the build when you've installed both coils will be 0.4ohms. So take that into account when buying or making coils you want to make sure the build resistance is above the lowest resistance your mod can fire at. From looking online the minimum resistance the Smok R200 can fire in VW mode is 0.1ohms so you want to make or buy coils that are 0.3ohms really or above, these builds and coils are never 100% exact so 0.3ohms per coil will give you a little wiggle room. The Cool Fire IV will fire down to 0.2ohms so i would make or buy coils that are rated 0.5ohms each at least. You can go with a higher resistance no problems in either case but you can't go lower the device just won't fire if the resistance is too low for it. Installing the coils is really dead easy if you can turn a screw you can put a build in an RDA, just make sure the coils are trapped properly under the screws and they aren't touching the metal outer wall of the deck or hitting the inside wall of the barrel which would cause a short and you're good to go. Nice thing about a regulated mod is it's really foolproof, if there's a short the mod just won't fire, if the resistance is too low it just won't fire and most will even flash an error message on the screen telling you what the issue is. One other thing if you are going to use metal tweezers to squeeze and adjust the coils make sure you do so while the mod isn't firing while the tweezers are touching the coil as the metal in the tweezers will create a short.
