Thoughts on Rhodonite?

Hi guys,

What are your thoughts on DIY or Die Rhodonite?

I know it won "juice of the year" or some such like a little while ago, but I read a thread on Reddit last night and it was totally "dissed" by 30 people.

I appreciate taste is subjective etc, but how was this one for you?

I rather like it, not that I'm any good at working out flavour profiles but its in my rotation of DIY eliquids, I bought 3x of each of DIY or Die concentrates at Vapefest last year for a very good price as Wayne Walker was there in person with Chefs Flavours

It was just ok for me . . . . pleasant enough but nothing outstanding considering some of the other yummy flavours there are around.

I made one mix up, at a higher ratio than suggested needless to say, then sold the concentrate on.

Happy that I tried it, but it's not a flavour I'd personally repeat - although I can say that about numerous flavours I buy, there's very few ' one shots ' I repeat on.

It was ok ish imo
Nothing great that I'd mix again and not even something I could change percentages with. So many juices are rated far too highly imo

I got a bottle from Chefs but can;t say it's more than an average juice.

Perpetua - It was the mix at 9.3% that set my alarm bells ringing

jtc - Most of the comments on Reddit were complementing the marketing and Michel Roux speak rather than the actual concentrate

It's not a great juice. It doesn't work at 9% (not even close) and Wayne is a tart with his 'add 0.756% of this' and 'the waft of cinammon crunch mixed at one drop per ocean is what makes this juice the best ever in the world, ever, in the world, since I named myself king of all things e-liquid'

He's insufferable....

It's improved with a slosh of raspberry mixed at a solid 4%.... don't listen to the pretentious twaddle....

Anything by and large, mixed at under 14% as a blend and promoted as the most scrumptious concoction the vaping world is ever likely to be blessed with, strikes skepticism in my heart ghostrider1971!

I really like it and get through a tank every few weeks or so. I mix it at 10% at 50/50 and enjoy it mtl.
Have tried it at 30/70 and max vg and 10% is way too low. For sub ohming I would try it at 15% and work upwards until you reach a sweet spot.

As an aside as much as anything . . . . one of the New Wave mixoligists I ' follow ' on ELR so get notification of his new recipes, posted one the other day . . . . . at an overall percentage of 11% - 2% of which is sweetener.

With the comment " if you like over flavoured and expensive eliquid then double the percentage " this disparaging remark I have say really narked me! Who is he to say what anyone should mix at, it doesn't matter whether it's 3 or 30% . . . . . as long as it suits your personal tastes, that's all that is important!

Yes that's a load of crap as I've had a decent juice as low as 10% and also up near 30%
It depends on what concentrates are used and the recipe imo. I do seem to like things around 20% tbh but not everything and to put a blanket statement out like that on the subject seems a bit retarded imo

I actually like Rhodonite, but not as a 'everyday vape' it is on my rotation list and funnily enough I mixed some more just the other day.

I tried mixing at the recommended, then upped it to 12%, my latest batch is mixed at 14% and really doesn't taste much different to the 12%.

I like the idea of adding raspberry (dont know why I didn't think of it), I'll certainly try it with my next batch

I mixed it from scratch and found it nice. I saw the one shot concentrate so I bought some just to compare, and was pleased as it tasted just as good as the fiddly mix. It's on my everyday rotation, but the wife hates it!
