Hi I,m not sure about batteries just watched aan hour and a bit of vaping biker and mooch who apparently is the font of all things battery! However it has scared the living daylights out of me now? I have 2 batteries which I swap on my smok kooper 80w Samsung 25000mah 25R which means didly to me? I just want to buy some safe batteries? Getting fed up up of typing the B word now?
Can someone tell me if these are ok I dont think I will ever get into mec mods even if I knew what one was apparently unregulated vs regulated? I just want some B word again for my smok and possibly a Smok alien 220 w if my son comes through lol cheers Bob

No need to worry 25r are good quality batteries in all vaping devices. Just buy from reputable sellers so as to get genuine product.

Depending on how you vape LGH2s or samsung 30Qs are 3000mahs and will last longer than the 25rs but wont be suitable for high wattage devices. If your only running say a 1ohm coil at 20watts max they would be fine.

Can someone tell me if these are ok I dont think I will ever get into mec mods even if I knew what one was apparently unregulated vs regulated? Regulated mods have control electronics in them (which electronically adjusts how much power the coil gets), and includes safety features. Unregulated mods, at most have a fuse for protection and operate pretty much directly off the battery.

Thanks what about LG HD 2C's 2000mah are they any god and although its seems lower ohm would they last longer ie run time? Yes they would be fine, the manufacturer rates them at 20A but Mooch tested them and he rates them at 25A so either way perfectly safe to use in the devices you mentioned, i would always use something that has a 20A rating or higher. The only issue you might want to consider is they only have a 2000mAh rating, long and short of it the lower that number the quicker the battery will drain. The Samsung 25r has a 20A discharge rating and a 2500mAh rating so you'll get a little bit longer life out of the battery per charge, plus every man and his dog stocks them and they're cheaper than the LG HD2C cells. Bit of advice don't take for granted the specs published by the manufacturer or the retailer, the retailer will most of the time just copy and paste the specs provided by the manufacturer and some battery companies don't actually produce the cells themselves they buy them in and just put their own branded wraps on them and often just outright fabricate the specs. If you want to find the true specs of a battery just type the name into Google, 99 times out of a hundred you'll find a site on the first page where someone like Mooch has published test results for that specific battery either on their own site or a torch or vaping forum.

Ohms only really matter on unregulated devices as far as battery safety goes where they determine the power. In the same way the term sub-ohming just nonsense unless you are on a unregulated device like a mech mod, where ohms determine power. With regulated devices you will be pulling more or less the same current from a battery with a 0.05 ohm coil as a 3.0 ohm coil for a give wattage, it is the power/watts number that counts.
25Rs are good for 70 W per battery IMO, great all-round cell with plenty of muscle. The 3000 mAh brown LGs and Samsung 30Qs, while safe in a decent regulated device, don't have the same muscle (the voltage drops a fair bit more under load) and personally I would not choose them for more than 40 W per battery, though plenty of people using them at higher wattages.

When it comes to batteries, I just faithfully follow Mooches charts, he produces them regularly so I try to save a copy on my PC for reference << click for full sized and save! Norbert and Torchy (vape battery sellers) are both reliable and they test all the brands and produce charts (that I don't actually understand) but I just check the list of acceptable and safe brands and compare to what power I'm likely to use.

I use fogstar.co.uk you can call or message them - tell them the device you require batteries for and they will tell you the exact best ones for that device. They are very keen on battery safety, they provide a storage case and spare battery wraps free of charge, you can also have your batteries wrapped in their casing, which is more durable, completely free of charge. Also it's next day delivery.
For me they have taken the headache out of all my battery questions. Plus their prices are hard to beat.

Yes since @broadblaster recommended fogstar to me i have been using them. The wraps they put on the batteries are the best by far. Very hardy wraps. Fast delivery too!
