So I have a friend who has never built on an rta before and I need to find him a tank that will suit his needs. At the moment he is vaping on a TFV8, DTL and at around 140w. I'm looking for a single coil rta which will take a large clapton and obviously a DTL draw. Easy to build on and pretty much leak free if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we should buy please? 🤔

Serpent Mini 22mm or the 25mm? Beyond easy to coil and wick if even I can do them and mine have never leaked a drop.

The engine nano is looking like a viable option? 🤔 You definitely won't get any leaking issues with the engine Nano but there's a lot better RTA for flavour out there

The engine nano is looking like a viable option? 🤔 I love my obs engines but the nano doesnt cut it for flavour, in fact i would go as far to say it was probably my worst buy, there must be better out there

But I found for flavour it worked best at 0.8 to 1.0 ohm with the airflow closed down. Not what it was designed for but the big juice capacity and lack of leaks (because of the top airflow) makes it a good RTA.

Depends on the airflow / vape style.
If MTL -> Really Restricted DTL the Merlin Mini / Serpent 22mm / 25mm would be my suggestions. 3mm ID coil.
If Restricted DTL -> Cloud chucking DTL the Ammit 25 Single Coil or Engine Nano. 3.5mm / 4mm ID coil.
The Kylin would be worth a look but beware there were issues with the decks on the Silver / Black versions and issues with paint on the coloured versions.

Not what it was designed for but the big juice capacity and lack of leaks (because of the top airflow) makes it a good RTA. I run the Engine Nano with a 4mm ID coil and airflow 1/3 open. As you correctly mentioned the airflow is just too much for a single coil.
