Thanks for the heads up jtc3.39 (6 NZ Dollars) is not that bad for an A4 sheet of the stuff, delivered from NZ, probably do for dozens of coils. The only thing that put me off was they have one of those paypal shopping carts where you have to put card details in, maybe tomorrow! Card details! I wouldn't do that tbh Think I'll just keep an eye on the stuff going forward and see if/how things progress 😉😆

Hmmm maybe, but the flax looks darker and is smooth to touch by all accounts. On reading up on it, linseed oil seems to come from the same plant 🤔

Its the oil bit that concerns me! Don't worry, the oil comes from the seeds (linseed) and the paper comes from the fibres in the stems - just like hemp TBH.

Zig Zag papers are flax. I can't possibly see how that would work to wick e-liquid. Maybe as well shave the Andrex puppy.... see if that's a miracle wick. Ideal for the classic 'wet dog' vape experience.

with all the faff we have had in the past from silica, ss mesh, summer rico something cotton, rayon, cotton balls, ceramic, and anything else i have forgotton i think its best leaving things to what we know.
hell we'll be saving our lawn cuttings next to see if that's the next best thing I had miles of everything thinking it would be better than the previous fad

Yeah but any type of oil collecting in my lungs is a bit too worrying for me TBH linseed oil is relatively inocuous - if you must worry, worry about all those flavourants in your juice of which you will be inhaling vastly larger quantities.

Well I've ordered some and I'll make an easy little rolly with flax and cotton. It will take me like 10 minutes so imo there's no harm in trying at 99p 😆

Coupla points - only offered for general info. I use a bit of Linseed oil in the shed - and a while ago I stumbled over a few details about it when researching various timber finishing subjects. Linseed oil (either raw or boiled) comes from the seed of the Flax plant: linky It is reasonably harmless if small amounts are consumed orally and once properly cured on a timber object it is fully "food safe" according to all leading health authorities - FDA and such. However, in times past I've come across reference about bad things that can happen if OILS are absorbed into the lungs - it can result in a condition referred to as "Lipid_pneumonia" Reference . I've no idea just how much oil one might need to inhale for it to become harmful but I understood that the general advice was to avoid any sort of oil when vaping. Hence the recomendation to avoid "essential oils" and similar. I do remember, when very young, my parents had an "oil burner" for menthol vapor when we were ill with colds and such. I do remember those being pulled from the market here as a result of similar alerts/alarms. Just comments for general info. Be interesting to see if the flax paper makes any meaningful difference to a wick.
