First attempt at TC

Hi all, well I decided to bite the bullet and give this TC malarky a go.  Kbox Mini with a Kanger sub tank on,80VG /20PG, .5 self built Ni80 Coil.

Filled it up, set to NI settings and...................Boom good god almighty!! no matter what temp I set it to it's like trying to vape lava.

Is this the norm with TC or have I made a BooBoo somewhere? If it's normal then the bloody Ni80 wire is in the bin.

if it do i dont think you got the right wire stainless steal 316L is prob the wire youll want

I don't believe that ni80 is capable of temp control, you will need ni200. There is other wire available for temp control but not all mods accept them, it's best to check what your mod will take

Yep ni80 is only for wattage mode and it's rather nice may I add.

phtumshk thanks a lot for that generous offer, but thankfully got a freebee 10 m reel in my order so will give this a go. Out of interest, what sort of temp should I be looking at to start?

no worries i got it to try tc out, used about 6 inches of it then gave up lol.

Well now I know why I never bothered before.................What a PITA. Coil at 0.6 all tidy and away we go.  Whats all the fuss about? flavour just the same  as standard coil. Will stick with DTL on wattage. leave everything else to " the youngsters"

At least nothing lost, SS was a freebee with the order.

I had a play with "TC" about a year ago, found it not as good as Kanthal on watts.
As far as I'm concerned TC's only advantage is with straight Dripper.

I gave up on tc as a bad job in tanks, but squonking on a dripper with ss it's awesome on the DNA250 board 👍😃

tbh i was the same ,i tried tc on a few of the cheaper mods and it was meh
half the prob is they mostly seem to be temp limiting ie hit temp and drop power and not keep a constant temp
the dna chip is night and day difference and is a smooth tc vape that you can tune to your liking much better than watts(v handy when suffering from a cold)
the other half is the tank you use as it need to have good connection to the coil and mod
the subtank is defo not the best for tc as it has a floating centerpin thingy

not saying tc is best thing since sliced bread or the dna is the best chip out there but until you have tried tc on a dna don't totally dismiss it
and i was a naysayer like jevans thanks to much frustration of trying to get tc to work till i got a dna

thanks for the imput,but there is as much chance of getting a DNA mod as winning the lottery ( I don't do it)
Being of a "certain age" now and very limited income my vape budget barely covers basics. Thanks all the same
